Id trade for pj3 for thorton & jimmer pj3 wnt play much behind durant so he could be a nice pick up

Hell no. One of the worst offensive players in the League last year.

Hell we just need him for size n defense dnt get caught up on offense to many offenseive cooks mess things up. Length n size are important

OKC was a terrible place for PJ3 to end up.

His biggest issue at Baylor was his lack of consistency and questions about being able to play up to his potential. (Which he never got close to doing...)
Well...he's not ever going to get a chance to address those issues while at OKC.

But as much as I really liked PJ3 in his 1st season...he just never showed anything to inspire me with confidence in his 2nd season...or his time in OKC.

So he's a tremendous gamble...and one that I don't think is worth taking.

Oh, and to add to all that...the salaries don't remotely match. Jimmer for PJ3 sure...but Thorton can't be any part of that.

No way. You're talking about about a 6'-11" guy who can't shoot, can't dribble, can't defend but openly admitted that he is a SF!

Perry Jones at the 3 is like Donte Greene at the 3 but with less defense and less shooting.

What? You want to play him at the 4? Or 5? Yeah, good luck with that. He is a SF, or at least he convinced himself that. And even as a PF/C, he wasn't particularily good at the defensive end. Why bother?

You could throw Aminu a good offer as a free agent, and get a player who's just as good at SF, and Aminu is still only 22.

I like Aminu and his intangibles, but the guy can't shoot at all. I know he's young, so he will probably (hopefully) develop a J, but was hoping there would be some promise from the side of the floor and so far, I have seen none.

He shot .315 from 3 and .773 from FT line his rookie - not the worst numbers to start your NBA career, but it seems his confidence went down the drain since then.
Saw an article about NO being reasonable if they pick him to be their future bencher with $20 million/4 years. Don't want him at that price. $3-3.5 million per should be the going rate for a bench player with new CBA, but at that price Aminu will likely get a lot offers, so I wouldn't expect him to end up in Sacramento.

Correct. All I meant was, if you're looking for a young SF, you could do worse than Aminu.

I hate to be rude, but you didn't post this in a thread that was already up and running. You started a new thread! Its my humble opinion that starting a thread comes with a little responsibility. What you suggested make no sense on several levels. Thornton is an established player, that at the moment is 10 times the player Perry Jones III is. One could argue easily that Jimmer has proved more in his stay in the league than Jones has. Jones was drafted purely on potential, and who knows, one day he may indeed live up to that potential. But as of now, he's been just north of terrible. Let me put it this way. If the Thunder want to give Jones to me, I'll take him, and I'll let him play in the D-League next year in hopes that he starts to develop into the player everyone thought he might be. But I'm dammed sure not giving up anything to get him.

But for starters, the combined salaries of Fredette and Thornton add up to $10,490,440.00. Perry Jones III salary is $ 1,082,520.00. The league has this silly little rule that salaries have to match, unless the team absorbing the increase has the cap room to do so, which the Thunder don't. So next time, try doing a little homework. There are some very bright people on this fourm, and believe me, they won't let you get away with posting tooth fairy idea's.
