Not for Mavs. It is basically their only legit forward.
There's a risk because he's headed for UFA, but lord almighty is DFS so freaking good and such a quality fit with this team. He's actually a perfect plug and play with Barnes and allows them to be interchangable between the 3 and 4 on both ends.

What a difference a day makes, haha.
Maybe a hot take, but I love this deal for both teams. Bertans can easily rebuild his value shooting next to Luka and they're protected from Brunson leaving with Dinwiddie. Wizards clear the Bertans contract to make way for all there 3/4's and buy-low on Taps who has actually been pretty good when he's been on the court.
And then the inevitable deals that come in across the line but take time to get reported...

If they got him for basically nothing that will be shocking and yes, I think the Kings should have looked that way if possible.

I can see the reason not to if Holmes is willing to be a 14 mpg backup. Sabonis/Holmes is one of the better C rotations but experimenting playing them side by side could potentially cause damage in the W/L column.
Not without a 2nd contract coming back (like sterling brown). If you are sending him to Dallas, Reggie Bullock and FRP would be ok. Id still rather go Charlotte and PJW but we got 15 min so I doubt Holmes is going anywhere. Plus losing 2 fan favorites may kill people around here.

Mavs have a trade exemption Holmes fits in. Kings have one Brunson fits.
15 minutes at the trade deadline may as well be 3-months of trade talks. Lots of time left.

Mavs are making moves but I don't know if they are good ones. I guess they are out from under Zingers deal. Spencer isn't great and didn't play that well with Beal, not sure why it works better with Luka. Strange id say
