I'm preparing to be underwhelmed. Hayes is a throw in. Would gladly switch him for Jones, but I don't see NO giving up all three of their wings. Only reason why I think its plausible was Monte looked into a S&T for Hart and there were rumors that he was seriously considering trading #9 for Jonas.

Yea, I would love Jones. Have loved his game for a long time.
As for Jonas, I like him, but we know Monte definitely is high on him. So if there is a trade, I can see him being a returning piece.

The issue there for the Pels is that their pursuit of Barnes makes absolutely no sense if that's the case.

If they did Ingram + Murphy + salary filler + draft assets for Fox + Barnes or something that would actually make that pairing make more sense though but I would be reticent to part with my best asset to build around a dude who's missed the entire season with a foot injury if I were the Pelicans.

Operating under the assumption that the Knicks are the ones who want Fox rather than us being the ones who want Randle, I'll say that the Knicks are going to have to be the "losers" in a potential trade.
So realistically-
Randle/Grimes/Knicks 1st rounder this year for Fox?
Not a spectacular haul by any means but Randle is technically coming off an all-star season so he'd help Vivek's win-now scenario while Grimes is a solid young wing guy (who is going to be the next Jimmy Butler according to wildly optimistic Knicks fans) and the Knicks 1st is probably going to hover around 20th overall. Ideally more picks would come back but...

I won’t lie, I kind of want Fox traded. I always felt maxing his was a risky yet absolutely necessary moves for a team like the Kings. His regression this year + the bizarre change in personality has me with a little buyers regret. That said, if we immediately sell low in the name of balancing the roster because Monte’s BPA’s are “forcing” it I’ll be extremely salty.

I think this would be fine enough. Randle and Fox are pretty equal talent wise and both in the midst of a down year after a spiked career season last year. Hali would pretty easily be the best creator Randle has played with since he's been a Knick and that could really help get his efficiency back to elite levels.
I like Sabonis a bit more than Randle, but Sabonis with only 2 more years on his deal is a bit scary if this takes longer to turn around and he just walks to UFA. With Randle, you at least have the core locked in to buid around.
Randle is a much less efficient scorer, especially from inside. He has an eFG% of 46.4% vs Sabonis at 61.2% while also taking more shots/having a higher usage rate.
The appeal to me with Sabonis is that you're pairing a guard who can facilitate with a post player who can also facilitate. Their stats aren't worlds apart, but I like Sabonis' game more. That, and honestly, I just don't enjoy watching Randle. I'd be frustrated as a Knicks fan too, given how often he launches into a spin and loses the ball or takes a bad shot as soon as he gets in the paint.

It's a buy-low for Randle for sure. I think getting him out the lead playmaker/scoring role will help get his efficiency to elite levels again. Hali by far would be the best playmaker he's played with for years.

Both are centers in the modern NBA.
Randle's maybe a bit more score first than Sabonis is but he's also a better shooter than Domas is and their roles on offense are different enough that it's sorta hard to compare their efficiencies one way or another, especially this year when Robinson being healthy has sorta forced Randle back out to the perimeter on offense and Carlisle keeps coaching the Pacers like it's 1997.
Randle's got good court vision for his size, maybe not Sabonis level but he's not exactly Willie Cauley-Stein cluelessly holding the ball on the perimeter. He does get tunnel vision at times while also settling for bad shots more than he should but on a roster with Tyrese and Mitchell, that might actually be preferable to Sabonis, who also has a tendency to defer at times?
Honestly, I'm not too big a fan of going for either guy but I guess the idea is that a trade for Randle might actually result in us getting other assets back beyond just a 27 year old big man who was an all-star last season?

God, what are the Blazers doing? if they're trying to tank, they probably should have moved Dame and CJ first because now they just set the market for their assets at "Just give us something -anything really!- and we'll take it!"
On the Clippers side, Powell gives them the extra guard they've desperately needed for the last couple of seasons and Covington is essentially the perfect Clippers player and slots in perfectly with their collection of wings and forwards.
Yeah, to be clear, I don't think anyone on the forum actually wants to sell out for a "win now" team and everyone would prefer to reset. But if are going to pursue this route, I think Randle's long-term contract and getting him with the best playmaker/ball-handlers he's played with can be a major win. He was legitimately great last season.
There's also probably the issue where like you said, you could maybe get more assets in a Randle deal. I think Sabonis might require a bit more juice than just Fox.

If we are going to trade Fox, the player coming back needs to fit our timeline of Hali/Mitchell backcourt The player we are getting back shouldn't be pushing the same age as Barnes, Buddy and Holmes.
Fox for Simmons? Yes
Fox for Sabonis or Turner? Yes
Fox for Ingram? Yes
Fox for Randal? No, unless we are getting back some young assets like Barrett or 1st round picks in the trade. Trading our young cornerstone for a win now vet is only going to re-start the treadmill of losing. We need to get younger, not older if we are moving Fox.

It doesn't seem like people are giving away first rounders for role players as much so maybe a young player who was a first rounder was the best they can do.
I have to assume CJ is out the door. I like him to Cleveland for Okoro and a first. Trade Lillard for Simmons. (if I'm Philly Id take Dame over Beal any day)

If I'm the Blazers, I try to get Maxey in with Simmons for a Dame deal, maybe a pick or two as well. Absolutely do not know if Morey swallows his pride and does that though.
