This is awfulWhat starting 5 will Dallas roll out with?
Doncic
Brunson
Dinwiddie
DFS
Kleber
They are pretty thin depth wise too.
LOL rightHmmmm. It’s almost as though he inherited a really poorly managed team.
THIS! These moves have made me happy but i'm not in love with Gentry at allI’ll give a little more leeway if there’s a full search and Gentry wins.
Plus, his mom is still enthusiastic and not calling the coach names! #SacramentoProud! This is precisely how i feel! I can wait for Summer and at least he doesn't sulk or give any strange vibes on or off the court in the way Bagley and Buddy did over the last couple years.

Isn't this where a team like the Lakers just grabs one of these guys on a vet minimum? Or is there more to it than that?
Lakers don't have a roster spot so they're going to have to cut one of their vets and eat their salary if they want to bring a waiver wire guy in.Isn't this where a team like the Lakers just grabs one of these guys on a vet minimum? Or is there more to it than that?
Kept his picks and financial flexibility on top of it. Jackson and Lamb are UFA and Lyles has a really cheap team option. Holiday has one more season at 6.2 mil. Got his guy 2 years later in Donte D who absolutely is going to be a core piece moving forward.
Holmes is a superfluous asset, but he's not a guy you sell-low on. There should be a market for him this off-season and in the meantime, the Kings potentially have the best C rotation in basketball.
Gets a 98% from me. PJ for Holmes would have been a perfect deadline, but I think getting Trez for a lesser deal is a good indication the Hornets weren't interested in that swap.
You know…I bet McNair just wants to outright sign Washington in the 2023 off-season with all of the cap space we’ll have (without giving up any assets).
Yeah…that’s it…
Well said as always. You are analytical and thoughtful-and a great poster.Yeah, as much as that deal made sense to us, this trade deadline proved to be a buyer's market and I can't blame the Hornets for dealing for Harrell (who gives almost identical production/play style to Holmes) for a much lower asking price. Everyone knew that the Kings would likely want to move Holmes so I doubt there were great offers for him. If so, it's best that McNair held on to him. We'll see what Monte gets for him in the offseason.
DiVincenzo should be a great complimentary piece.
Overall, a great trade deadline from McNair. As much as the Hali trade gutted me, I think he's done a great initial retooling here.
My thought was that I'd rather see Fox dealt to get Sabonis so that Domantas and Tyrese could combine to have some elite ball movement, but they'd still need a primary scorer. I'm guessing McNair floated that but De'Aaron's trade value was depressed and Indiana balked. But as much as I love Hali, Fox may be a better player to match with Sabonis as a primary scorer/first option. At least that's my hope.
I went into this trade deadline saying that if the Kings stood pat or made moves to make the team worse I'd check out completely for a while. McNair dealt my favorite King and the Kings were hammered by the national media, but I think he actually improved this team and its future prospects. I'm excited for now, which is something I haven't said about this Kings team for quite a while now.

I never said it was but I’m not sure why an expiring Harrell is seen as similar value to Holmes locked in on a reasonable deal for 3.5 more years.Charlotte got Montrezl for Vernon Carey and Ish Smith. I seriously doubt a Holmes for Washington trade was on the table.
Hornets trying to hedge their bets thanks to their losing streak.I never said it was but I’m not sure why an expiring Harrell is seen as similar value to Holmes locked in on a reasonable deal for 3.5 more years.
It was a wild couple of hours lolUsually it just takes me a few minutes to catch up on the day's posts after work but I'm like an hour in and still not done lol
Your not wrong.WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY DOES EVERYBODY ALWAYS WRITE "APART" WHEN THEY MEAN "A PART" AND "A PART" WHEN THEY MEAN "APART"?!?!? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???????????????
It was a wild couple of hours lol

The other thing to consider from the Hornets end, does it even make sense for them to trade PJ? They have team control for 2 more years before restricted free agency at less than 7 mil per year. He is a wing in a "wing league" and will have Haywards 30 + million coming off the books at around the same time as Washington is up for a new deal.
He's not a wing though, he's a pretty clear stretch 4 with the ability to shift down to small-ball 5 in certain match-ups. And with the Bridges break-out/extension looming this season, the idea was that the Hornets weren't going to commit another $10+mil/season to PJ to come off the bench when they have such a huge hole at C. The Bridges break-out has coincided with him moving to the 4 as well; whereas he struggled trying to be a wing.
Part 4 had James JohnsonWe have JJ part 3 now
Part 4 had James Johnson
So we've got:
Josh Jackson --> Jackson, Justin --> Justin James --> James Johnson
which means we're a Johnson, Josh away from completing the JJ circle.
