Gonna need a better source than "NBA TRADE DEADLINE" with 4k followers.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if we did buy him out if no deal is found. Curious how that would operate with our 10 mil option if we cut him in the off-season

The parallels to our franchise are shocking sad.
It's times like these that I'm glad that 80% of trade deadline noise is meaningless garbage, because if we were out there actually ANNOUNCING this it would be the biggest shoot-yourself-in-the-foot in NBA history.
I think you're correct on this, but there's a difference between sitting quiet and blowing up all of your leverage for no reason. This could be another team doing this but the reality is the reality. The Kings aren't keeping DeMar beyond this summer and if he can't be traded now it ain't happening so oh well.
the "basketball hell" moniker was a lot closer to accurate than not, unfortunatelyWe're the incels of basketball.

I'm not a member of the Scott Perry Booster Club by any means; I think his record as Kings GM is spotty so far. Some good, some bad. But I am not - yet - ready to believe that he is so bad that he would allow that kind of info ("we'll just cut him") to slip. Sure, it could be another team, or perhaps his agent (if there's any angle there) dropping this hint to manipulate the market, or it could just be a 4K-follower account (as stated above) making things up trying to pull some cred.
As a side note, if I were Perry, and the Kings front office didn't leak this, and then I saw this kind of market manipulation tank my ability to trade DeRozan...I'd absolutely NOT buy him out. The buyout wouldn't change financials much anyway, and you absolutely have to disincentivize that kind of manipulation. Sure, water under the bridge with DeRozan, but if it works this year, they'll try it again next year.
The Kings lied to him? Like how. Thinking we were good? Feels like he's the one that broke the team and while I have some respect for his game, we've pretty much catered to him since he arrived. He was asked to alter his role and refused which lead to our death spiral. We were seduced by having a player with a recognizable name attracted to the team and yet somehow still overpaid on a sign and trade deal to get him here. If we nice guy this and cut him loose instead of extracting value from what remains from his contract we are stupider than we were the day we signed him.DeMar doesn't want to be here and there is at least a semblance of him being able to say the Kings lied to him to get him to sign with them in the first place. He has to get what he wants unfortunately. This could be one of those just get it done so they can save face things.
I fear the Deebo era is going to end with a buy-out whimper.... Nothing against him personally, but the move really did seem to trigger the downfall of the beam team. Our future pick swap with the Spurs likely to be another low point/embarrassment in our history, Barnes still contributing on a winning team, a buy-out after a year and a half of putting up empty numbers for us.DeMar doesn't want to be here and there is at least a semblance of him being able to say the Kings lied to him to get him to sign with them in the first place. If he doesn’t actual catch and shoot the ball, Harden is going to have him killedPoor Keon. That dude is never touching the ball in his career
Luck for him, the new guy doesn't do the one thing Keon is known for.Poor Keon. That dude is never touching the ball in his career
What would the deal even be? They have no picks or young guys
