[NBA] Trade Deadline Season 2026 Open Thread

The Kings lied to him? Like how. Thinking we were good? Feels like he's the one that broke the team and while I have some respect for his game, we've pretty much catered to him since he arrived. He was asked to alter his role and refused which lead to our death spiral. We were seduced by having a player with a recognizable name attracted to the team and yet somehow still overpaid on a sign and trade deal to get him here. If we nice guy this and cut him loose instead of extracting value from what remains from his contract we are stupider than we were the day we signed him.

Yes. And they'd get better.

Lavine for Ja seems too good pass up. I hope we kick the tires on that one. I’m getting antsy on a move. Perry make us proud :)

That seems a little fortunate and not Memphis direction

The exact report a couple weeks ago was Demar/Devin/“some level of draft capital”

It may or may not have come down a bit from that.

The injury Ja has can hopefully be load managed the rest of the way so he’s not messing with the tank (UCL in elbow)

I guess rolling the dice on someone like him isn’t less probable than a random mid round draft pick (not to say it’s the value Memphis will get)

Everyone in the starting lineup that he signed on with, along with the 6th and 7th men, other than Murray, are either gone or they're trying to trade them
The team opened the season dire with him in the lineup, a massive downgrade from where they were with Barnes. They asked if he would consider coming off the bench so a more balanced lineup could start, he refused. Soon the coach was fired, the "star" player demanded a trade, and it all went to pot. Oh, we also brought his best friend in to replace the star which has been the diarrhea frosting on the poop sandwich.

Look, DeMar isn't at fault for coming to Sac and thinking it would work. And he didn't make the boneheaded moves required to bring him over here. But when it wasn't working he was unwilling to adjust in a way that would help the team and now we're f'd. He can't play victim here.
