I didn't realize that.. I hope Nik can continue to get confident in his shot. I think we will see him handling the ball a lot more under Karl. Jason Jones just tweeted out
Hopefully Stauskas can emerge as our Dragic. I'd give Ray's PG minutes to Stauskas and move Ray over to SG.

Overall, I'm happy we kept Nik. I know that he has been a disappointment thus far this season, but that's no reason to think he will be one forever. His shooting ability is top-notch, he just has to get it to work in-game. And yes, that was the whole Quincy Douby problem too, so there's no guarantee he'll work it out. But I'd like to see him get a chance, especially as some of the trade options seemed pretty risky. Dragic scared me for the simple facts that he's looking to get what I would consider to be very overpaid and he didn't seem to want to be here anyway. With Karl, who is pretty known for getting the most out of his players, and now 30 games stress-free followed by a full summer to work on his game, I hope that we can see a Ben-type turnaround for Nik next year. A more-athletic J.J. Redick would be a great role player.
Karl seems very high on Ben, and he wants him to be more aggressive. This could be fun to watch. Ben has already taken a big leap this year, let's see if Karl can make him special.

It means he is where we think he is. Cuz, Rudy, Collison, Landry, Ben, thats the order of or players in terms of best. Ben has the potential to be # 3 though.

I have seen Suns fans complaining about some of the exact same things we were complaining about last year. Hero ball, doesn't pass the ball much, etc. Kind of sounds like the Suns told each of the three (Bledsoe, Dragic and IT) whatever they wanted to hear, and then got caught.
EDIT: I read some earlier posts and realized I wasn't sure I had this right after all.

As a Celtics fan I'm a IT hater, I think a lot of it has to do with visiting this site and seeing everyone complain about him. I hate the hero ball and he's too short to do anything on defense. You guys know him best.

I have mixed emotions about IT. For me, he made a strange transition from the "little overachieving 6th man who could do anything," who I loved, to the guy who wouldn't pass the ball to Cousins or Gay at the end of the game, because he wanted to win the game himself. Things started to go downhill at that point.
I think things would have been fine if they never made him a starter here*. I could be wrong about that, I don't know. But it seemed like as soon as he was able to tell himself "I'm the starting point guard," he was never willingly going back.
The ironic thing is that appears that because of that attitude, he's now been traded away by two teams in less than a year, and he's still not going to start. So he kind of let his ego screw up his plans, in my opinion. And unless he changes his playing style (more facilitating) or decides that "6th Man" is an acceptable role for him, I think he might continue to bounce around the league. To me, he was the next Bobby Jackson, the Kings 6th man during the glory years, and that would have been awesome.
* EDIT: I'm not sure we had much choice at the time, though.

ya'll gonna have a ball throwing jabs at him. he's a ball hog and will freeze out better players than him. i hated watching him in the game.
So much fun reading the celtics boards. So far I've seen that he's a top 5 pg and that he's going to lead them to an upset over the hawks. Also that he's got the potential to be a really good defender.

Usually it's not that big of a problem, unless your frontline is anchored by Sullindger and Olynyk - additional strain on already rather suspect last line of defense.
Eh, I think he will get back to around 16pts 5asts and he'll be a fan favorite. He's a great scorer and his game will resemble a lot of Kyrie Irving's. Great scorer, ball dominant, and decent facilitator.

Tyreke probably shouldn't count. As you'll recall, the front office that traded him (a sign-and-trade no less, so he wasn't actually allowed to "expire") was not the same front office that didn't trade him at the deadline.
IT also didn't purely expire, though we got nearly nothing (Alex Oriakhi and a trade exception). Again, we've got a bit of extenuating circumstances here, as Thomas was on a league-minimum contract and basically couldn't have been traded for anything good at the deadline because we couldn't take any ral salary back. Perhaps we could have gotten a pick.
But Derrick Williams, on the other hand, fits the criteria perfectly.
He's already admitted that his head was screwed up in his rookie season and he had an over-inflated opinion of himself which impeded his ability to learn. I think his peripheral numbers look good for a bench big. Here's a list of all the players who averaged 17% reb rate, 2% blk rate, and 2% steal rate over the course of a season in the last 10 years, sorted by defense rating:

We need a guy who can gobble up defensive boards when Cousins is on the bench. We could also use a guy that contributes defensively as well. The sample size is small, but his fg% has gone up from .430 his rookie year to .481 last year and .516 this year. Mostly because he's taking smarter shots. That FT% is a glaring problem though. Obviously expectations would be different this time. We're not talking about Robinson as the 5th overall pick anymore, just a cheap and available young player with some intriguing numbers in limited minutes who could fill a need for us off the bench. I think he'd be a nice low-risk/high-reward get for us.

And Robinson plays with some tenacity our bench unit could really use from time to time. Miller should be able to get Robinson some points via dunks and alleys. Could we try to sign him for the remainder of the season?

It will be interesting to see if this front office goes after T-Rob. He an athlete with good motor so he suits their style
I have no interest in Beasley or Bennett. Obviously we tried Williams and it didn't work. Aside from high draft picks and high expectations though, these four players are nothing alike. Beasley has already had a season where he averaged 19 and 5. He could be a starter somewhere if he actually got serious about being a professional athlete and playing within an offense. Williams is an elite athlete who hasn't improved at all in 4 years. It appears from the outside that he enjoys spending his money more than he enjoys working on his game. Bennett is two inches shorter than Robinson and looks like he might eventually top out as a poor man's Al Harrington. I already gave you my reasons for wanting to take a flier on TRob. His rebounding skill is up there with the best big men in the league and he runs the floor and makes hustle plays on both ends of the court.
If you want to imply guilt by association, I could just as easily go the entire opposite direction. Ben Wallace won 4 Defensive Player of the Year awards as a 6'7" center. Two of the greatest rebounders of all-time were shorter than 6'7". Sometimes it's not about how big you are, it's about how badly you want it.
