I had a blast watching this parade this morning because for the 1st time (ever) I knew people who worked on the floats and people who actually marched in the parade.
The Grand Marshall this year was George Lucas. This year is the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the Star Wars saga.
Some of my friends from my Star Wars group went down to Pasadena this weekend to help get the two Star Wars floats ready for the parade.....putting on all the flowers and other foliage.
One member of our group marched, as the only Tie Fighter pilot in the parade. I also know members of the 501st from the Central Valley Legion who went and became part of a group of Storm Troopers that were made up of representatives from 36 States.
All in all, for this Star Wars geek, it was pretty awesome!!
