Dungy's son, 18, found dead in Tampa suburb

James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead at 1:30 a.m. ET Thursday in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., a suburb of Tampa, Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Thursday.


A death investigation is under way, and the spokesperson said that the county medical examiner's office or the hospital at which James Dungy was pronounced dead would have a ruling on the cause of death.


James Dungy officially was pronounced dead this morning at University Community Hospital in Tampa.


Tony Dungy has left the Colts and is in Tampa. Indianapolis plays at Seattle this Saturday.

May God provide strength in this time of the Dungy family's weakness.

Man!!! Dungy is one of the best. I hope that he is able to deal with the stress of the NFL's best team and this sudden tragedy. Life is very fragile.:(
 
Damn.

I know it won't get his son back but you know that Colts team will be on fire trying to win it all for him.
 
Very sad. I will be praying for Tony, his family, and friends as they experience these rough times.

Like Nebs said, it wont bring his son back but give the man Coach of the year (as he truly deserves IMO) and we know his players are going to go crazy to win the super bowl.

Very sad indeed, it makes it even worse at this time of year. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
 
Yeah I heard it mightve been a suicide as well... Forget the nfl dungy, take care of everything you need to do regarding this horrible tragedy first...
