TMass interview about the Kings on 1140?

Did anyone catch the Tmass interview on AM 1140 this morning? I just heard a caller call in a protest wanting to know why Tmass was handing out cheap shots and the DJ's seemed to say they would ask him about that. I'm just real curious as to what he had to say for himself. Does anyone have a transcript or a quote of anything interesting?

He's a Professional ...

Things blown out of proportion ...

I heard the interview, but I really can't do a TOTAL RECALL. There was alot said.

Check the KHTK-Am website. They occasionally have their interviews available either the same day or soon after that.

Here's the link: http://www.khtkam.com

He did make some allegations against the Sacramento media. Accused them of combining quotes to change the meaning of things he said, make it sound like he was bashing the Kings when he wasn't. When he started his rant about the Sac media, they tried to cut him off, but he kept going, then, he was accidently disconnected. Imagine that.
Said he didn't elbow Matt Barnes (I think he must have meant intentionally, because he sure enough did)

i listened to most of the interview. i thought TM was very well spoken, i didn't hear him make any comments (negative or otherwise) about sacramento fans or the town. if i were to read between the lines a bit, i think he was trying to call out cwebb for some issues.

but overall, i thought he represented himself fairly well, certainly nothing like OP .. not sure that TM deserves the brunt & rath of sacto fans. then again, maybe he closed the interview by saying "sacto town sucks, i'm out!"

The only thing Massenburg is guilty of is talking to much. He says that fans have every single right to feel how they want. I don't think fans would be misconscruing anything if he said those two magic words "No Comment". Do not go on the radio shows, do not comment to the media. Shut your mouth and play ball.

Why?

from the postgame quotes vs san antonio..

Tony Massenburg
“Right is right and wrong is wrong, everything happens for a reason. I was done wrong last year, so when we came in here I just happen to be starting and we happened to win. That’s how it goes sometimes. Basically I just did what all of you saw at the first of last season. That is exactly what I did tonight. I don’t think I did anything that anybody hadn’t seen me do before; I have been playing fifteen years. It turned out good tonight –we shot the ball well and put some pressure on the perimeter players.”

i don't like him..

paraphrasing a bit:

he made a comment along the lines that "certain people" didn't act the way he would expect. that TM did not have the the upbringing and abilities to act with his head in the clouds, that TM had to work a bit harder to get where he is today, and he expects to be treated w/respect (as he supposedly treats others).

there was a bit more to what he said, it all centered that certain kings players & staff acted a little "too good" and were not focused on winning as a team.

If that means he's been on 12 teams for a reason, I concur.

;)

well Jim Jackson is reaching that number and you, along with plenty of other peeps onthis board have repeatedly expressed your wish to have JJ back.

just cuz a player has played on a lot of teams doesn't mean he's a bad person or player, he's still managed to play in the NBA for 13 years, and that also counts for something.

Actually in both those guys' cases it means exactly that -- they are problem personalities, and have been since they entered the league. That's why they get dumped year after year after year by team after team after team. Its not coincidence. Everyone is enticed by the talent. Everyone quickly tires of their act. On to the next stop.

and yet, they keep on getting on ... and sacto has had both of them, and chuky atkins (tied wTM for most teams). soooooo... ? bottom line, played in the nba for 13 seasons.

We aren't talking about JJ, who at least left the Kings on good terms, are we? And, for the record, even I had to back off from positive comments about JJ after his bad-mouthing of the Rockets, which I thought was totally unnecessary.

If we do have to talk about JJ, he did cause problems on a majority of the other teams he was on. I felt he was an asset to the Kings and DIDN'T cause problems while he was here.

TMass has managed to stay in the league because he's big. That, in and of itself, makes him somewhat useful - especially on teams with injuries in the front court.

He's still a cancer. The Spurs will find out sooner or later.

must be the reason why this is the second time he's been on the spurs. spurs just love that cancer, don't they ....

I have no idea why he's back there, but I suspect his size had something to do with it. They seem to have a gaping hole at the 5 without the Admiral in there as he was for so many years.

I really don't care. If you're that fond of Tony Massenburg, more power to you.

i wouldn't know TM anymore than i would know you ... when he was on the kings last year (at least at the beginning) peeps wanted him playing, they talked about his toughness & rebounding ... now all of a sudden he's a punk, sucks, cancer, blah blah whatever. but like you, i couldn't care less either.

TMass has NEVER been a rebounder. Certainly wasn't for us. Talks a good game. Has a single turnaround post move from two spots on the floor. Nothing more.

i didn't say he was a rebounder, or a great player. only pointing out the shift in attitude from when he was signed to this team & played last season, to now.

I never liked him, so my attitude has not shifted one iota. Or even part of an iota.

I didn't really have problems with TMass when he was on the team. Yeah, he's a little rough, but I thought the Kings could use a little toughness. I was surprised when he wasn't activated for the playoffs last year. What really changed my opinion was his reaction to being left off the roster. He stormed out, but not before badmouthing the Kings to everyone who would listen. I felt that was unprofessional and unacceptable. Express disappointment, fine, but don't badmouth the team you've been a part of.
