Tips for taking pictures with Kings players

Hi everyone !

As I told you in a previous post, I'm from France and I will attend my very first NBA (and Kings) game soon ! :p
Being in a California trip (I take off tomorrow), I will attend the Kings vs Mavs game on April 3.

Of course, after 8 seasons with relative success, I finally come the year Kings really suck ! (call it the Flopi effect)

Anyway, I'm quite excited about it and I would like to take pictures with the Kings players and immortalize that rare event !

So, what are your advices ? Do I stand a good chance ?

Thanks in advance,
Flopi

Flopi,

I don't know much about taking photos with Kings players, but I believe the Arco Arena doors open 1 hour and 30 minutes before tip off. Also, if you want good food while in Sacramento, go to Midtown or to Old Sacramento. Unfortunately, there isn't much besides chain restaurants and big box retail around Arco Arena. Feel free to post here or PM if you'd like some suggestions.

I think it's very cool that you'll be seeing the Kings when you come all the way here from France. Also, the Eiffel Tower photo in your avatar is amazing. My wife and I were in Paris last September and absolutely LOVED it. Bon voyage!

I did a quick search of the forum and here a couple of links where people have talked about getting autographs/pics

As for places to eat, I would second the downtown area. Places like Zoccola's, Aoli's, Bistro 33, Mikuni's, The Park, Dragonfly are all good places.

The Chris Webber restaurant is really just an ok place with so so food and lots of nba related memorabilia.

Actually I mentioned Webber's restaurant, not as an endorsement of fine food, but as more of a novelty.;)
I went there the night it opened after we saw the Kings and Grizz, and I thought the food was pretty good, actually. Me and my friend got some appetizers, some ribs, I think I had some soup and salad for my dinner, if I remember right. It was pretty darn tasty. The atmosphere is awesome, though...and is the true draw to the place. Brought back alot of memories, just walking through.

edit: Oh, and they have what's called the 'Fab Five' burger:D, its like 46 oz. of beef, and if you finish it and you arent dead afterwards, I think it's free. lol

The gates to arco open at 5pm whether it's a 7 or 7:30pm game. You have plenty of time. But, usually only certain people warm up early before the game. By the time the starters are out on the floor for pre game warm ups the people that stand at the sidelines have been cleared for the people who actually have seats down below.

Your best chance is the exit from arco that leads to the practice facility. This is where the players usually exit after showers etc.

There are plenty of great restaurants all around Arco / Natomas... just ask around. They've been building like crazy around here.

Pics with players are luck of the draw. I'm sure you'll get some good ones if you try. Just be polite. Rock n Roll.

Do you have to call a time-out after you eat the burger?:D
