Time to get rid of the past

Up until last night, my signature contained a message about the Maloofs. I removed it and am not looking back. As I'm reading all the positive comments and thoughts from a lot of you, I'm seeing that there's still a bit of work for you to do.

UPDATE YOUR SIGNATURES! Start the new era with a positive message. We've gotten past the nightmare. It's a bright new day with a incredible future for us, our team, and our city.

I probably should have, but I never had any Maloof sentiment in my signature.

But I am happy to be turning the page. And in that vein I'd love to see this sub-forum bumped down from the top of the list at Kingsfans.com and eventually disappear completely.

I have no schadenfreude towards Seattle fans, I have no residual anger over this whole long saga and in general am just relieved that it is over, thankful to everyone who played a part in that outcome and excited for the future of our team.

You are of course right. I still have a tiny immature boy inside me who need 24 hours of playing with a grudge before I can let it go. I will be on the exact same page as you in about 11 more hours.

While we do need to update the definition of this forum, I don't see it going away. It can evolve into a place for "off the court" news such as progress on the arena, news about Kings appearances in the community, etc. It's all good.

This is still such a surreal feeling, after being blindsided with so much negativity and uncertainty over the past few years, this feels absolutely incredible.....

Speaking of that, i seem to forgotten how to change my avatar. how do i do it again?

I, for obvious reasons, cannot change my avatar.
I, for obvious reasons, cannot change my signature.
I, for obvious reasons, can add to my signature.
Done Deal.

i can get behind this ritual cleansing. my new signature is dedicated to the rebirth of the sacramento kings...

Probably time to delete the "off the court" section in the forums as well and the M word should be censored as if it was a swear too.

The "Off the Court" forum is expected to stay, although it may be slightly re-purposed. As to your second suggestion:

Never forget the past or your doomed to repeat it.

I'm grateful for all their contributions to the community. And I'm thankful for the good times they and the Kings brought to our region (intentional or unintentional, we'll never know).

I'm ready to move on and very happy to move on. However, adversity reveals the true character of a person. We got to see their true character in the last few years. We (Sacramento) may move on to a brighter future, but they will always be the greedy, sneaky, deceitful "businessmen" they revealed themselves to be. We'd be wise to remember that.

IMHO, the equine named Maloof has expired. We can all put down the whips...

This is sortof semi-related, but I would feel silly starting a new thread for it so this seems as good a place as any. I bought some purple shoes to commemorate the return of our Sacramento Kings from the clutches of Maloof-dom and since I plan to wear these on game days, I wanted to write a date onto them with Sharpie for good luck. I'm torn though whether it should be 4/29/13 for the unanimous vote by the relocation committee to recommend that the Kings stay in Sacramento, 5/15/13 for the full board's 22-8 vote to decline the Hansen/Ballmer bid to move to Seattle or 5/16/13 for the date the team was actually sold to the Ranadive/Mastrov group. One on each shoe? All three? Thoughts?

Buy a third shoe to write on. Tie laces to other two shoes on feet. Walk with third shoe dangling between first two.

You sir (or madam) are some kind of mad genius! (name change to Mad G? ;) )

Personally, I'd got for 5/15/13 and whatever day the sale is actually finalized.

Putting in my transfer request back to my home town of sacramento. Strictly for my kings... now that I can afford good seats on a regular basis. New chapter in my life while a new beginning starts with my favorite team of all time.... coincidence? ?? No, a true love story. ...... ok it got weird.

For me, emotionally, the 7-0 vote was the biggest day. Everything else kind of was like going down hill. Of course the date the Maloofs sold to Ranadive makes more sense but these are your shoes and you need to pick the date that means the most to you. Heck you could wait until the BoG OK's the sale. We all have been spouting to the Seattle folks that no sale counts until the BoG says so, right? So as of now, the team hasn't been officially sold.

In short, you don't have to be rational.
