Time for some Spanish Chocolate?

Between Landry, Rodriguez, and Thompson we'd be well on our way to put the 09-10 Kings together. I'm guessing that Sean May and Brockman are also available.

Not as against the idea as you might think. He was actually pretty good that half year with us, he would add passing Karl is looking for.

But, BUT:

1) as i recall when he left he was pissed off nobody would give him a team to run, and we won't either
2) defense
3) we're in a position where we have a #1/#2PG. And we have several candidates for #3 PG. Going into next season could you trust Sergio coming back to the league 5 years later to just walk back in and be a stable #2 for you, and a guy you turn to if Collison goes down? If not what is he? A #3? He's not going to go for that, and we have a bunch of choices there.

Problem is that he's going to want around 8 to 9 mil a year. Not saying he's going to get it, but in this league, who knows. Way to expensive for a PG returning with question marks. And, as you stated, I would worry about his defense. Of course if we have WCS patrolling the pain, it might work. Naw!

That's a number so far beyond anything we could rationally offer it makes the whole discussion moot. We barely have enough cap room as is jsut to fill our actual holes -- in fact the truth is we are a bit shy. Let alone if we blow 2/3 of it on a backup PG.

Seriously .... but the best part is the rest of the NBA and league is asking the same question... Sergio can "PLAN" on coming back all he wants but no one or team cares... he's washed up over here... he's not gonna get paid more than the min

Yeah but I remember this one night in Chicago..........10 points.........7 assists.........

I am certainly open to the idea. The guy has worked on his game to the point where he is THE best PG in Europe and arguably best player. He is not the same Sergio that we had for that half a season. He is much improved and I would be very comfortable with him as my back up PG.

My question is how much does he cost us? He is rightly a very well payed player in Europe and he would at least need to get the same money in the NBA. You are probably looking at the MLE or more to sign him!

I'd very much be willing to spend 3-4 mil on bringing him back, maybe even more. You're not one of the best, if not the best player in Europe by accident. He's not even close to the same erratic player in his last NBA stint. He's a refined player who knows how to run an offense and is a great floor spacer.

Back-up PG is one of the biggest needs we have. Ray Mac hasn't shown he can be a rotational player yet and while I appreciated Old Man Dre Miller, he's not someone who should be in a rotation either. Both guys are ideal #3 PG's. Sergio gives us a great option there and would push DC to keep his spot.

I think as fans, our view of him is skewed because we did see him in his last NBA stint where he couldn't cut. He's not even close to that guy though.

Huertas (Barcelona via the way of Brazil) is also planning on coming to the NBA another elite playmaker would not mind him as a back up at the right price
