Timberwolves buying out Kevin Martin

I've been saying this for a long time, Karl's way of playing Marco is very natural for Kevin Martin.

Their defense will be both non-existent anyway. But those misses that Marco does would be a different story if it's Martin we are talking about.
The best guy in the business of passing along so many screens and doing a sudden turn around shot is Ray Allen and he played under Karl.
The next guy is Rip Hamilton. After that, Martin would be next the guy in my book.

Just drop Butler or Dukan, were not playing then anyway.

Again, Kevin Martin's agent is Dan Fegan. He is going to work his hardest to get Kev the best spot possible. Right now, there's no way that's the Kings.

Fegan's beginning to run out of high level clients. We're practically the last berg where he has a major foothold with Boogie and Omri. Maybe we should have those guys give him a call and tell him to steer Kevin back our way.

agreed. by whatever means necessary, it needs to happen.

theres nothing wrong with having his crew aligned with us.

we're on the up - albit slowly, slower then i would have liked with more drama then needed but hey its how we roll.

Get martin in here - give him the minutes he craves and watch us turn into the offensive force Karl has been pushing

I'm not counting on it. Just not ruling it out. How he sees himself going forward might be important. If he is indeed ready to do the old declining vet thing (he's only 32, but I have obviously never been 100% convinced of his competitive fire), then he can do much better catching on with a contender and beginning his new life as deep rotation player/spot shooter, although there has always been some question how well suited he is for that.

If he still thinks of himself as starter/player of significance, well then we become a more interesting option. Few other teams, let alone team's remotely in the playoff picture, have such a clear need at his position, and with history with him too.

The Spurs had to release a player to sign Andre Miller. They would have to release another to sign KMart. If Ginobilli is expected back after his testicular surgery I don't see them needing KMart enough to cut another player who has been in Pop's system long enough to be comfortable.. On the other hand if Ginobilli can't play, Kevin will be wearing a Spurs jersey.

I would assume he'd take Rasual Butler's spot.

agreed. im concerned theres nothing around our interest. Our chances of postseason somewhat hinge on our ability to add a solid addition by the deadline

Ya know, I do not think Kevin or any other older person waived will make this team better or better yet, achieve any goal. However, it might revive a little interest in me. I'd like to watch Kevin. As it is, I will turn on the game because nothing else is interesting and this is a very long standing habit.
