Three NBA teams fined for tampering

i thought he made the CP3 comments during his introduction press conference?

I wondered about that too. But I think he was already using "we" to refer to the Kings, and that was the whole reason Grant was interviewing him. In any case, I doubt the NBA is going to play blind because of a technicality like that anyway.

so yeah, it was the Kings.

While Malone should know better, he was put in an awkward spot. The Kings.com interviewer asked him a loaded question about Paul coming here. I'm sure had he phrased it something like "We would be fortunate to have a player like Chris Paul play for us." or "Any team would love to have Chris Paul." etc.; he probably would have been fine.

Or simply saying he can't comment. He'll learn.

I think saying a certain player would look good in a Kings uniform is a pretty innocent answer, and quite a distance from telling your potential STH in a sales promo that you're working on getting Chris Paul and Dwight Howard to come to your team.

So I agree that he could have phrased it better, but whoever asked the question should also have known better...I'd have to go back and see if I recognized the voice, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to find it was our august beat writer. ;)

I saw on Twitter that it was Jon Santiago.
