this is where Reggie Theus is really put to the test

I remember last year around the same time a similar situation occured..the Kings were 1 game under .500 coming off of a victory against the Knicks...they played the Lakers, led almost the whole game that blew the game in overtime...the Kings went on a horrible streak after that which basically ended their season

I feel this is where Reggie Theus needs to step up and make the sure the team does not have a similar colapse

I would suggest putting everyone (especially starters and top 8) at the free throw stripe at the end of practice and have Slamson run circles around them while they're trying to concentrate on making them. Since Reggie like to say, those who perform the best get the most minutes, those who make the fewest free throws have minutes taken away, run extra sprints, carry rookie Hawes bags, something!

kings dont need to practice free throws, they are a good shooting team...you cant practice being in a crucial situation like they were in, their nerves get the best of them...chokers

I agree. I was mostly being tongue-in-cheek. Should have added:rolleyes:or:p

actually in that game we were down by 20 nearly the whole game...then bibby hit a big three to put us up by 3. Rad hit a three to tie, then i believe we missed 2-4 ft's and parker hit a game tying layup at the buzzer. We went on to lose in overtime...

i was there

The Miller Exercise

I would suggest putting everyone (especially starters and top 8) at the free throw stripe at the end of practice and have Slamson run circles around them while they're trying to concentrate on making them. Since Reggie like to say, those who perform the best get the most minutes, those who make the fewest free throws have minutes taken away, run extra sprints, carry rookie Hawes bags, something!

I'd prefer taking some of those football "pillows" football coaches use on running backs to "slam" players on the free throw line if they don't make their free throws. Knock 'em on their keyster. Then while they are shooting free throws the coaches can walk into the lane about 3 feet from them and yell obscenties at them, curse their relatives, and question their manhood, make pointed gesticulations toward them and whatever else they can think of to rattle 'em.

With Miller they need to take an extra step because Miller has this attitude of woe is me, the basketball gods and the refs are unfair to me, I can't get a break. So in his case you make the exercise ENTIRELY unfair and chaotic, so no matter what he does he cannot win. Heck, if he makes 10 free throws in a row under those conditions, you tell him he did something wrong (when he really didn't) and force him to run 10 suicides to make up for his error. Eventually, he will understand that the only thing he can control is putting the ball through the basket - nothing else. Then finally he will toughen up.

A perfect practice for Miller's free-throw shooting...

...is an 8-pointer buck running loose in the gym...:p

The blew it in the 4th quarter, actually. It was a complete meltdown.
