Theus: Weak willed or weak coaching skills or ? (split from grade thread)

Looking at this season compared to last year, i am satisfied with what Reggie has done. He may not get along with some of the players, but what he has done with most of the team, which is turn a bunch of role players like udrih, salmons, moore, and garcia into a competitive team, impresses me.
The way i look at it, we are in a win-win situation this year:
1. if we win games, we know that we are a competitive team going into next year.
2. if we lose a bunch of our remaining games, we just get closer to saying, "HELLO DERRICK ROSE!!!"

I can blame management, however. It's one thing to tell the coach "play the kids." It's another to force the coach's hand by trading the veterans away. Coach and management need to be on the same level.

I think that Theus had to know that a trade was coming because of Kevin's extension. Unless they were 100% sure that Ron was opting out (and how could anyone ever be sure what Ron would do?), they needed to dump a vet for enders in order to cover that raise. So I think he had to have known that was coming. Maybe he hoped it would be Ron instead, but some vet had to go.
