The Talented Mr. Bowen

Any of you see the left-forearm to Amare's chest from Bowen in tonight's game?

Cocky S.O.B. Bowen tries to pretend it was on accident. Seriously, there is no player I hate more.

Here's hoping for a one game suspension.

suprised nobody has hurt this guy intentionally yet. hes tried ruining alot of ppls careers with his crap, i mean stellar defense.

Makes for an interesting first round matchup, doesnt it ;)

Then the second round with the lakers , stern gets all he wants and more. Seems like the spurs will be out in first round if they play the suns. ABC would be licking its chops for a kobe/shaq playoff series

First round throw in the nash/horry, amare/bowen dirty plays and you got a series ;)

Okay, what is the big deal here?

I am NO fan of Bowen's dirty tactics, but if some big guy comes out and tries to set a screen on you, you know what? Good on you if you punish him (as long as its not dirty, and this wasn't cheap). Hell I've occasionally knocked guys on their *** before in that situation if I see it coming. No reason to let the big guys get too comfortable coming up to deliver punishment on you, and if Amare can't take a forearm to the chest...well, that's Amare's problem. Wasn't to the groin, the knee, the throat...it was a forearm to the chest. I mean, come on now. Stop being a wuss.

this many people complaining about him being a dirty player.. there has to be some truth to it.

of course he's a dirty player.

however this "forearm to the chest" nonsense has to be about the weakest example of "dirty" you could possibly come up with. Unless Amare has recently had his chest cracked open in open heart surgery, it just makes him seem like a ridiculous wimp. For anatomical reasons that might be a painful play in the woman's game, I don't know (not having that anatomy) but a forearm to the chest shouldn't even register in the NBA.

I agree that this ranks low on the "dirty" scale. He can be an a$$, but this play isn't a great shining example of that. Amare should expect some contact from this play....

true. i didn't see the clip until after i made that post :P

Yeah, I didn't think it was that big of a deal either, even though ABC replayed it a dozen times. I think Amare over-sensationalized it, and should have brought his big 7 foot, 260lb self back down the court and played ball.

I hate Bruce Bowen, but I disagree that this foul was dirty or a big deal at all.

Now, for the Suns and Spurs to meet in the first round, that would be a great matchup for the NBA. Rematch of last year's bitter second round series, all the storylines, etc. I put my money on the Suns this year, but that would be a great series.

he did it in the back court, no less, with a 17 point lead, no less, and there was 3:28 left in the game. i know that suns leads tend to be 'tentative', but i'm wondering why he was in the game, much less setting unnecessary back court screens.

some men you just can reach.
