The rate we were was like historically great. We're a fantastic team at getting to the line, simply by having Cuz, but there's no way you can tell me that squad would have been one of the greatest ever at doing it
Bottom 3 efficiency in all categories and completely unsustainable FT rate is not "overrating offensive categories." That's being realistic about why we were able to win at the beginning of last year.
If it's not too much trouble, I'd like a link to the whatever evidence you are referencing to be able to declare that the FT rate was "unsustainable," as if it were indisputable fact. Since, you know, FT rate is not related to efficiency stats.

Let's put it this way - I'll take top-three defense with bottom-three offense over top-three offense with bottom-three defense, any day of the week and twice on Sundays. And I'm yet to see any evidence as to why the FT rate was unsustainable.
Because no team in the history of basketball had ever achieved a .500+ FT rate (at least from what I've been able to find, I looked extensively last season), which IIRC, is where we were at during that point in the season. The best teams in the league usually end the year in the .350-.375 range.
But you're right, I don't have any physical numbers to back up that assertion. But I think it's a pretty smart educated guess that squad wasn't the greatest FT rate team in NBA history (or one of them).
No team that played like the Warriors ever won a championship, either, until the Warriors did it. Maybe we could have done it, and maybe we couldn't. But arguing that it was unsustainable on the basis that nobody ever had done strikes me as disingenuous.
Still doesn't account for the defensive end of the court where we were playing amazingly well. Even if the FT% rate came down, that was the big difference

We haven't been successful doing anything. Basically forever.
This team can't defend the three point line. They can't contain the dribble. They can't defend the pick and roll. They don't care about defense. Even a defensive "genius" like Malone had this team in the dungeon of defense.
The core is the same despite the new faces. Oh and Ben Mac shouldn't be playing a single minute IMO.

Anderson plus Bellinelli last night. 2-14, 7 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 0 steals.

-DMC is option 1A on offense (obviously). Rudy is supposed to be option 1B when need be...he hasn't been and is starting to look like Toronto Rudy.
-A lot of our issues moving the ball/turning it over still looks like players trying to gel.
-Some will say the schedule is no excuse...but when a team is struggling, they usually need a break in the schedule to get it together.
I'm reserving judgement on this team until after this brutal stretch where we're playing most of the league's best teams all in a row. They've hit a perfect storm that we all knew could happen when the schedule was published...not sure how this suddenly puts fans in panic mode.

Several times the Kings gave up the easy corner 3. In fact, an easy corner 3 broke their back in the 4th. Giving up easy corner 3s is an absolute no-no. Kings get an F on defense just for that. Rotations were terrible.
Kings lack defensive quickness on the perimeter. I don't see anything fixing that except a trade. A guy like Beverly would have been much better for this team than Rondo.

Will it put the team in panic mode. This team has a habit of playing dowwwwwwn to the opposition too. I expect when we hit a stretch of "favourable" to lose a fair few as well.

Probably. But I think if you told most reasonable people that we would lose DMC for most of this stretch of games, they would have predicted a similar hole to dig out of for the rest of the season. Gay and Belinelli going through shooting slumps adds to it. The one thing I'm truly disappointed in is the inept defensive rotation of this more "veteran" group.
