the season ended when we lost to the lakers in january...

if we would have won that game we would have been .500, we were coming off a blowout win against NY...i was @ the NY game, and at the lakers game...up by 4 with like 10 seconds left, radmonovic hits a god damn three then i think kmart missed a ft...cant remember, then we lost in overtime as the crowd yelled mvp when kobe was shooting free throws..horrible night, and to top it off, charles barkley was doing play by play...

Oh believe me...this season was in the toilet before January.

Agreed...this season "ended" when our management decided to neither turn this team into a legitimate contender nor go into a serious process of rebuilding.

The Sacramento Kings are like a poor swimmer trapped in an ocean current...we have no chance of making it to the shore but we stay afloat just long enough to make the lifegaurd think we're alright while we drown by the second.

Agreed. Not Keeping Bonzi. Not getting another star player in a trade or otherwise. And getting supposed star/but non-star coach in Muss is what killed the season - that was destined to play-out from day one.

I actually believe the Bonzi Wells fiasco is the main reason we had such a terrible offseason. Petrie couldnt really make any moves for free agents (or trades, without knowing what we had) until he was sure we either had Bonzi locked up or didnt...Bonzi's agent decided to be a douche bag...And here we are.

When the moves weren't made the season was lost. We had supposedly Bibby traded for a late 1st rounder and a couple expiring contracts, and whoever didn't pull the trigger.

I'm all for getting equal value, but sometimes you gotta blow it up..

I agree with the OP. While we may indeed have been doomed from the gate, with 6 seconds to go in that Laker game everyone around me was elated - as was I. "Dang the naysayers - this is going to work out!". That moment and Ronnie Price's dunk vs the Jazz (which was also a bright spot on a dark night) are the only two moments of this season that were reminiscent of the good old days.

After Vlad's shot, the missed free throws, and the loss - the air was out of the balloon, never to return.

So I feel the same - the season ended right there against the Lakers in January.

I don't think it matters when people realized the season was pretty much a lost cause. The main thing is IMHO that people finally realized this current group of players is NOT going to dazzle us with their brilliance on a regular basis.

If you look around the league, very few teams did any kind of last-minute trading, which means we weren't alone. It was just a bear market.

I'll cheer for this group for the rest of the seaon and then wait with anticipation to see what can happen on draft day and during TDOS. I think it might get very interesting for a number of teams.

I will ALWAY cheer for this team. I think this offseason might not be as active, in a positive way, as people think, only because the crop of FA isnt that attractive, outside of Chauncey...who I'm sure is staying in Detroit, or wanting a contender. The draft should be solid, though, lots o' big men with potential.

this season was over the minute adleman was fired.... i will still cheer for this team but damn.... we suck.
