Love his January numbers.. Seems like a huge improvement partially because he seems to stay out of foul trouble.

I'm really going to look forward to watching how his numbers go in the month of Feb. since we have just about every single team we face is a playoff team except Phoenix so it's going to be really fun to watch. I do however, would prefer if he doesn't shoot more than one three in every 10 games or so, we don't want this becoming a habit. If your WIDE open then sure take ONE! but your 270, please either face up or back your man down.

Calm down. DeMarcus is not, nor will he ever be Spencer Hawes or Brad Miller

You know it is easy to just always look forward and expect these players to become magically better from a raw rookie to an allstar. Fans are impatient, coaches are impatient, teammates get impatient, there is no remedy but time. All rookies have to go through bad times to get to good times. In fact the first year is all about learning. the second year is about applying, and the third year is about dominating. I think that Cousins, with his strength and skill, will be dominating by his third year barring injury. I think he is on pace to play very well next season. He is a competitive kid, but someone needs to get to him in the summer and make sure he works out and stays in shape. Maybe not basketball shape, but in good shape so that when training camp comes around you dont come in heavy or lethargic. He has a frame that could go either way. he could go fat or go huge. Demarcus needs the extra footwork and exercise to learn to dominate other teams in the paint. But I believe he is certainly a franchise center for the future. I believe him to be more of a sure thing that Evans at this point. Cousins issues are treatable. Not sure what that was that Evans went through, although he is playing better. Was it an injury, girlfriend dumped him, or what. But Cousins issues seem to me to be more competition related. He wants to win badly and he is emotional. That can be focused and used to improve the player. All great players played with emotion. I don't ever remember many "GREAT" player who played like a statue. "The Iceman" George Gervin was pretty cool on the court, and he was one of the greatest players in NBA history to never get a ring, but he played the cool and calm assassin. I hope Demarcus can put his emotions and skills to the best use he can and help bring Sacramento back to relevance.

Tim Duncan is pretty unemotional on the court, in terms of him showing it at least. All great players are great competitors, and to want to win the most out of anybody else on the floor requires a great deal of emotion. People often equate emotion to simply hustle and a bit of a fiery attitude on the court, but what I think is most important is not how the emotion is channelled during the game but outside of it as well. Emotion and passion should make a player want to work his butt off so that he can do as much damage as possible to the other team when he's out there playing. Which is why I bring up Tim Duncan. Compared to KG, Kobe, DMC, one would say that Duncan looks uninterested in games. But he has tons of emotion, and put it into hard work off the court. That's what I want to see most out of Cousins - putting that competitive spirit to good use in the offseason, getting fitter and working on his game.

Tyreke on the other hand, doesn't display much emotion on the court. And based on his first offseason he apparently doesn't put in enough work off the court either, since so far this season he hasn't shown much improvement in his game (other than a very slightly better outside shot) nor in his fitness level, but this could be due to his ankle injury and all. Thing is, on a young team everybody needs to contribute their very best games in order to win. On a veteran team guys can slack off and the team will still win a fair share of games.

I'm happy with Cousins' development so far. Hope he steps up his rebounding a little and learns to really use his size inside.
