The Portland Trailblazers

They're playing some fantastic basketball right now, with a 10 game winning streak in which they've beaten some very solid teams. Brandon Roy has been awesome with back to back Western Player of the Week awards, and is looking like a future All-Star. Granted, they've been shooting ridiculously over the streak, so I would expect them to somewhat come back down to earth soon.

That said, they are the youngest team in the NBA. They are already at around .500 this year and have potentially a franchise player entering their lineup next year  Almost an assured championship formula in a few years. The management did everything right to build that team considering the mess it was in when they inherited it.

It will be interesting to see what kind of player Oden becomes because he is already mired by injuries even in his rookie season.

I guess one could say that if 100% of your career has been spent being injured that might qualify as being 'mired' in injuries ;)

He's a rookie; what games would he have missed due to any other injury, and when would he have missed them?

Injuries are not limited to the NBA. But I thought he missed at least one pre-season game prior to his huge injury. It doesn't matter. Fact is, he lost a year to an injury... and that will only slow him down. It's like a domino effect. He could get more injuries as a result of this one.

He's missed all his pre-season games; he had surgery in the summertime.

i'm only jealous because they have a solid and sound plan with rebuilding that franchise. ;) they've done a complete 180 in a few years.
