The top prospects in Thursday's NBA draft carry a lot of pressure.

They've waited and wondered: Where they will be drafted? How will they prove themselves? Do they have what it takes to be the next star?

Aside from the athleticism they share, they all have different interests, memories and senses of humor.

Five of the projected top 11 draft picks were in New York on Wednesday to talk about what it’s like being in their situation, which is deeper than their college stats could show.

Who will be this year's NBA Rookie of the Year?

Robinson: Me.

Now that may not happen or might be even improbable, but I like that he's putting that on himself. You just know it won't be for lack of effort.

I think Davis is the best guy in this class 5 years from now. But considering Robinson is a physically and mentally mature player who will probably average 30+mpg for the season, I think he has a very good chance at getting the award.

If you had to handicap the race you'd probably go:

Davis
Robinson
Lillard - not sure he is this good, but should play a lot and as a PG will have the ball in his hands a lot to put up stats
Beal
Waiters
Barnes

He was pushed from rebounding specialist off the bench as a sophomore to the featured scorer of the team as a junior. He may benefit greatly from reduced role. Winder what projected minutes allocation among 4 bigs for next year looks like?
