The NBA Malcontent Success Plan:
by NoBonus/ Future NBA Malcontent Superstar Agent

Step 1: Get a max contract on any team that will take you regardless of if they are terrible or not; it will not matter, you will not be there long.

Step 2: Openly discuss your desire to be traded, discuss your disgust for the level of play of your other teammates (should not be too hard, you have a large portion of the team's salary leaving little room for star players), and create problems for the team until they cannot take it anymore. At this point you will be suspended by the team. Do not worry, this is a very good thing.

Step 3: No team will want to keep you suspended all season as they need the $$ from your salary to sign other players. Knowing this, you need to proclaim that you will only play for one of the top four or five teams in the league, but you really want to play for the top team. Other teams will not be terribly interested in you repeating this performance and you will be traded to a division-leading winning franchise.

Step 4: Win championship ring as the team you joined already was a contender, but with you in the mix, they are a sure-bet.

Steve Francis

Tracy McGrady
Rasheed Wallace

Not sure how much success its brought, but might want to add Baron to that list.

And potentially Paul Pierce as well.

i would actually take rasheed out of that list; he had committed to the blazers. they were really close to going to the finals and play a series against a lesser eastern conference team out of formality. he did not stay with the (was it the hawks?) at all (or am i confusing him with someone else?).

francis did it when he was a rookie, right? after that he pretty much stayed with the rockets till vangundy era. and you cannot say that he has a chance of playing deep into the playoff's, let alone getting a ring, in orlando. and so far, he has not complained (even though this suspension stuff might prove the contrary).

tmac, all the way.
vince carter, ditto.

Sorry if I mixed up/left off some prime situations... They are just facts, who needs them, right? I should go into journalism.
