the maloofs are going to be on JIM Rome, on ESPN

rome said hes gonna 'catch down the guys who are responsible for having the all star in game vegas next year', so yea, im guessing they'll talk about that

Ha, I was just going to post this... be interesting to see what will be said.

lol at Rome frustrated that Kobe/Shaq are on good terms now...

god i get the chills everytime i hear somebody ask them if theres a chance of the kings moving......why cant we just get a new arena!!!

what did they say, other than "We're going to accentuate defense right now"?? Did they even mention a new arena in Sac?(probably the 'canned' response like, 'we're looking into everything going on with that to get the best scenario for both the team and the city of Sacramento, we just love the city so much...gosh, gee') lol

Talked about the possibility of a team coming to vegas (MLB/NBA), all-star game there, Artest trade, team before the trade, playoffs.

I focused more on when Rome asked them about the head coach next year. Although it wasn't the most fair question to ask on live TV, the Maloofs didn't give a straight answer. Maybe they are heavily considering a new coach for next year. Personally, I would like to continue to see Adelman as our coach.

Here's some of what I remember:

- The Artest trade was discussed between Joe, Gavin and GP, and they unanimously thought it was a good thing to do.
- They felt that it was their shot at avoiding a "disaster" season, as they realized that the "core" of Bibby, Peja, Miller wasn't going to be effective
- They talked to Artest, told him they wanted to leave the past behind and that it was all a new beginning as far as they were concerned. Artest was excited about coming to Sacramento and felt he could have an impact. They feel (and hope) that he has matured and "seen the light" and won't create any problems. They are happy that the community has embraced him and the fans love him.
- When asked about renewing Adelman, they avoided the question with the "He's our coach while he's our coach" line. But added that they're happy that the team is doing a lot better now and that defense is now a focus and we're actually playing some D
- When asked about a Vegas NBA team, they said that Vegas needs to have a professional sports team. That it will be good for the city and the community, with Vegas being one of the fastest growing cities, etc... and people can only go gamble so many times - the city needs some pro sports.
- They said that it could be any sport, but that the only way that it would be basketball is if the casinos took NBA out of the books (as in no NBA gambling). They added that THE PALMS HAS ALREADY DONE THIS (does not allow NBA bets) and that their sports gambling hasn't suffered.
- When asked about the possibility of the Kings leaving Sacramento, they said that they've never even considered it a posibility - that they want to stay here, the team is good for the city and the community, and the city/community/fans are good for the team. HOWEVER, they really need a new place to play (refering to a new arena) and that they really need to get with the City and figure out how it's going to happen, because it is something that needs to happen.

That's about all I can remember - If I think of anything else, I'll update the thread.

Ditto...thanks:) I'm wondering when we're going to here about the whole 'getting with the city to figure out how its going to happen' thing. Mum has been the word the last year or so, and its been damn frustrating...time seems as if its of the essence.
