The Kings should Boycott Next game...

the f*** referees again... they are doing this deliberatly!!!...the kings should boycott the next game and bring this bulls*** to a head... lets see how david stern will like that... a boycott will bring all these bogus calls the refs keep calling even more negative press to the nba... obviously, all the bulls*** calls this past week has not been addressed by stern to the refs, because they keep on doing this same old cr**... these bad call seems to be deliberate, payback against the kings for speaking out about their poor officiating... if i were the kings, i would boycott the next game in protest, because the refs will try to cost the kings that game in the end anyways!!!

no games should be determined by referees... people pay good money to see a legitimate sporting event... not a circus led by the d*** referees... and the kings have lost two games because of refs this week alone... this cr** has got to stop or the legitamicy of this game will come into serious question and will lose a lot of fans...

obviously the kings will not boycott the next game, but what a message that would send to the david stern and the world...

as long as its not a home game.... sure... that be cool as ****.... it would be just one less game for the refs to dictate....

Well, if you REALLY want 5 straight losses to prove a point, Adelman would have to decide to bench all of his starters, otherwise, the league could and probably would heavily fine the franchise and/or suspend the players. No, I don't know of a precedent for that, but Stupid Stu Jackson makes up penalties as he goes.

Maybe Stu should give those refs some extra training hours...or does he only do that for refs who make mistakes in the Lakers' favor?

a boycott would be the first story on every sports page and espn sportscenter... a message heard around the sports world... the kings will not stand for referees deciding games anymore... this sport and their refs need to clean up their act... i can think of no other sports where the refs can dictate the outcome by so many bad calls... and david stern turns a blind eye to all of it...

one simple way to fix it, allow instant replay challenges in the last two minutes of every half and end of games... that will help clean up the game...

do you have any idea how much some of these guys make per game??? you really think for a moment that anyone one of them would ever consider boycotting a game? please....

: Wonders if some fans will look at some of thier posts last night/this morning and say to themselves... Why the heck didn't somebody stop me from posting that?! :

Just to show the refs, the league, and the world we are even bigger babies than they thought...We complain about everything, then if a boycott WAS to happen...What message would that send to the refs....

What we should do is go on our road trip with fire in our eyes, and show people what a mad Sac-town Kigs team can do...That is a stronger message than any boycott could make.

GO KINGS!

It would be nice to be able to protest in SOME way...... whether that is going to happen or not, I don't know. Probably not - I am sure that the Kings organization will take their case and try to talk to the NBA......But I agree with SLAB - going on the road trip and taking every single one of those games is probably the best boycott ever.
I do think it is ridiculous what has happened.... And watcing those 3 idiots just standing there on the court last night (after making.. sorry - not making the call), and just standing with their arms crossed while the replay was being shown in the arena....... I was soooo angry! We needed someone to overrule that call. Even the ESPN guys tought it was a bad call.....

i dont think a boycott's the answer, but i agree with some of the points ya bring up. the nba in general, and this is just my opinion, has been one big, shall we say, traveshamockery this season. first, everybody's favorite commissioner decides to tighten up on bump and perimeter foul calls, in the hopes that defenses will lighten up and scoring will increase. david stern, you lame-o. definitely not the answer. next, officials have decidedly had their way with teams this season. and its not just the kings (but especially the kings). the refs have way too much power, and have gone from game moderators to game decision-makers. that, in itself, is a travesty. next point, the nba is becoming much like the nfl, and creating this very production-oriented atmosphere. i used to love watching all basketball games around the league, but now its become a big show. with all the all-star hype, and the way voting is handled, not all those who deserve to be selected get selected. (again, not just the kings, but especially the kings.) last point, the nba has gotten into the really bad habit of backing the season favorites. this is a trend that we all noticed around the time of the most recent LA dynasty. the hype needs to stop, or at least lessen up a bit, because, from that hype is where many of the above problems arise. all in all, i'm dissapointed with the direction in which the nba is going. i think we need a new commissioner. i dont expect anything to solve the kings problems, cuz i still believe the only thing stopping the kings from gettin to the finals is themselves. but, as i speak in generalities, i dont like the kings chances nearly as as much with the entire league pitted against them, officials, analysts, and the commissioner included. self esteem has always done wonders for this team, and we are at one of the lowest points of the last 5 seasons.

Kids before the Kings (players and coaches) do or say anything they need to decide if they are wiling to take a "nuclear" option. A all out war with the NBA will be ugly. A buch o players mouting off, or wearing coments on arm/head bands or what ever is going to put the NBA in the position to retaliiate and probalby further encourage more no/bad calls. Im not saying don't do anything but realize what the likely consequences of your acts are. Now the Maloofs are in a slighlty different position. Orgering tape of no calls sent to stein and the NBA is smart. Being vocal about not getting respect is smart. Montage footage on the jumbotron of of bad/no calls mixed wiht pictures of Refs that put them in a bad light may not be too smart. Were in their shoes I might well seek legal avice and consider my options. Obviously they should not just sit back and wathc NBA reffes destroy their buisness,

Another practical sollution is for the Maloofs to have White T-Shirts printed up for the next home game that all read "Kings Against the World" Not much the leage or Refs can do about that and it shows team spirit.

Realistically, all they should do is shut up and play. Prove them wrong, that we don't need any refs to be great.

The fans idea would be interesting though.

How about if they go out there and Goaltend every shot that the other team attempts. All our starters would foul out of the game. That would send a good message without them getting fined. You can't fine them for playing bad basketball. And then when the Kings have the ball only shoot half court shots....

I am just kidding but it would be funny to watch...

To paraphrase an old saying, "Playing well is the best revenge."

So, no boycott. No one wins with that. But if the Kings can take this and turn it into motivation to play the best ball they possibly can every single night, then it becomes the ultimate revenge. And the officials can't take away a game on a couple of calls if the Kings haven't left the door open.

GO KINGS!!!!

I have to agree with VF.

It makes no sense to "SEND A MESSAGE" by the team. For things to change a real message has to be sent by the people that make them money. THE FANS. If the team "goaltends every shot" or Boycott's the game then it hurts nobody but the team.

A real message would be fans not showing up across the country at various arenas. That would send a real message.

Kings need to regroup!

I personally think the kings need to forget about the losses and look to the future! Regrouping as a team might help as well! I just hope they can start to improve their standing record! This is all just my opinion I hope no one takes offense to this!

Maybe the Kings should do something even more radical, like making free throws down the stretch.
Hey, now HERE'S a novel idea. And to think...all we had to do back in 2002 was make more than 50% of our freethrows in game 7 and we would probably have won a title. Damn...I'm frustrated at the lack of fortitude by the refs, but I'm not about to say they're the reason we cant win games.

i personally think they should hold a players only meditation session

i like meditation....it really helps me when im high stressed and just need to take a step back...not to mention he provides you with new found energy

that would be a great way to regroup

The only ones hurt by the fans not showing up would be the team, the team owners, etc. The officials don't care if it's a sell-out crowd or not. Their salary doesn't depend on attendance.

A REAL message is to totally and comletely flood the NBA office with emails, letters, etc. That is tangible.

Well if no fans were to show up at all arenas that would send a pretty clear message. It will never happen just saying thats the way to do it.

Emails and letters are the next best weapon. On contrast lets look at college football. How long have they wanted a playoff and it still hasn't happened? WHY? because 80k people fill all the bowl games and another mil+ watch them.

One thing to remember is we pay there salaries. Without the fans there is no 100 mil + salaries a year.

You're right, it'll take more than a couple of calls. But when the refs are determined, they are more than willing to step up to the challenge. As much as I hate to mentally revisit Game 6... I couldn't believe how well the Kings were playing that night. They were unstoppable. I remember thinking that if the game were called correctly, we'd be up by 20. We were dominating the Lakers on their own court in an elimination game, yet Stern's henchmen saw to it that the series went to 7.

Yes I know I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I guess I am... I mean, here you have an immensely powerful billion-dollar organization, and you think they're going to just turn down the opportunity to make several million additional advertising dollars, increase their exposure, keep the fans excited, etc. solely for the sake of some principles? I hope I'm wrong... that's why I still tune into the games.

As someone already mentioned, the only effective boycott might be against the League's sponsors... but you'd have to involve waaay more people than some disgruntled Kings fans.

But to whom do you want to send the message? If you want to impress the team and team owners, don't show up. BUT it's not the team and the team owners we're trying to send a message to.

All I'm saying is you need to make sure the message you send is:

a. The right message.
b. Going to the right people.

:D

I am not the one to send a message to anyone.

I was just responding to this post. I don't believe any message can be sent. I don't believe any conspiracy theories against the Kings. The NBA refs suck and there is nothing we can do about it. I don't think Dstern is up in his office thinking of more ways to screw the Kings.

We can all send emails it won’t matter one bit. The only place it matters is in their wallets and that is fan attendance. It will never happen, a boycott at the arena’s that is but that’s IMO the only way to send a real message.

You don't get mad, you get even. VF21 already said it, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame me. Now is the time for the Kings together and take that us against the world attitude. Channel their anger and fustration and take it out on the NBA and more importantly, their opponents. This could be a real crossroad point of the season for the Kings, from what they do here on out, after all of this BS and nonesense, could ultimately tells us what type of team they are and can be in the playoffs.
