Ayton gave Giannis all the space in the world that time and it forces him to pass. If Bud is going to have to go super small he needs to do it earlier in the game and Giannis is going to have to take some of those 3's just to keep the defense honest.

Bucks know they don’t have to let the suns get multiple cracks at it right? Bud needs to tell them they’re allowed to get defensive rebounds.

They are so out of sorts defensively. Clearly they are winging it. Those missed switches a few plays back show you they have no concept of where to position with this unit.

Maybe the Bucks can trade Bud for Ty Lue before Game 3 to have him work his comeback magic?

He'd need to trade for PG13 too, haha.

You know, the Bucks have shown a never say die attitude and there is home cooking coming up but watching them struggle strategically against the Suns tells us that there is no way they get through a healthy Nets team this year. They barely beat them as is. Fully healthy they have a magician in Irving, Harden, and Durant at center.

Just them trying to switch shows how desperate they are. Bud NEVER switches on D.

Yep, and guess what every non-believer, YOU HAVE TO SWITCH. There is no other option so anything else is kidding yourself. Even if you get through most teams without it, the top 3-4 teams are all like the Warriors/D'Antoni Suns now, they literally give you no choice other than to hope they miss shots.

This Bucks team reminds me of those Cavs teams where pundits spent months trying to convince the public that Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao were adequate sidekicks for Lebron to win a 'ship and the Cavs losing was somehow Bron's fault.
And they also thought Mike Brown was a good coach for some reason.

Bucks had no business getting to the conference finals, Durant on his own couldn't quite get them over the hump which is unfortunate because they would at least be more entertaining to watch than this Bucks team

Even if the Bucks end up winning this one, a new year is coming, they really need to consider adjusting a bit and bringing in more legit sized wings themselves. If Kawhi stays in LA, LeBron gets the Lakers to re-tool, and the Nets come storming in healthy, it's going to be a tough run to a title for them. That's too many teams that will do the same things to them and probably better.

Watching them play, you can definitely see why they were so desperate for Bogi last offseason. While Conaughton isn't awful and would probably be a rotation wing for quite a few teams out there, he's no Bogdanovic.

maybe it wouldn't make that big of a difference but they sure could use Donte's defense right about now

Man, I despise CP3 but I can take some amusement in James Harden being such a trash teammate he couldn’t win a ring with him, then CP3 ended up on the freakin’ Suns and is about to get a ring before him.

They win a ring if CP doesn’t have his annual playoff injury they’d literally be the only team to have defeated that GsW team healthy.

Also hilarious how much credit CP gets. This team was what 8-0 in the bubble with Rubio they figured it out last year CP gets way too much credit

Ordinarily, I’d get behind the all-time great vet getting his ring at last, but CP is just to hard to get behind and root for…….he’s a turd on the court.

I kind of agree with you, but I gotta get behind an organization (the team) as they remind me more of the Kings over just the player. I don't like Paul too much on the court either - he seems a bit dirty against the opposing teams, but not bad enough to disavow the team. I would've liked to have seen the Hawks vs Suns and get behind the Hawks, but this is at least better than Clippers/Bucks. A fully healthy Clippers team likely takes the crown. I don't buy into Giannis hype; sort of the mold of Shaq. 'Bullying' (in basketball) is not much fun to watch.

Rooting for the Suns

Yep, mildly. If it were the Hawks, it would be reversed. Thought it would be the Hawks, Aayton is better than Capella. Trae Young probably gets the edge over Paul, but Booker is the difference in this series.

I’ve never watched enough Giannis until now to realize how broken his jumper is. That thing is ugly.

This is one of the main reasons I don't like the praise he gets. His mid-range jumper is ok, but taking 3s is hurting his own team percentage-wise on offense. Cringeworthy.

Giannis is amazing. Everyone else on the Bucks currently is not that.

One of the problems on offense I thought is getting Lopez more involved - he' was a shadow out there offensively. That and Middleton had Buddy-like crap-down shooting. The Bucks need to get their shooting going. They've played stints of good defense, but often are beaten by Suns ball-movement. Game 3 is absolutely critical to make the series more interesting. I'd like to see the Suns win, but I'd like to see a series get closer more.

You mean "make" some those 3's - he can't.....he's no 3 pt shooter.

Harden blew it single handedly for the Thunder going from Playoff dominator to goat in the Finals against the Heat. He had his chance and blew it already. That was one of the most disappointing finals of the last decade.

James (and probably Lakers) are done next year - he's got too much mileage on his body. Leonard is going through the injury gauntlet too.

Yeah, Conaughton plays better defense than Bogdan, but his shooting is inconsistent - especially open shots.

Are you serious? An 8-0 streak doesn’t compare to getting a #2 seed in the west and getting to the finals. Hell, the kings had 2 stretches where they won 7 out of 8 games and they are no where near as good as the suns with cp3. There is one main change this year that turned the suns from a lottery team to a playoff team and it’s him.

And before they were 8-0 in the bubble with Rubio, they were 26-39... with Rubio. They had to finish the season on an eight-game winning streak, to get all the way to five games under .500. If anybody is trying to give anyone too much credit for what's happening with the Suns, it ain't the people crediting Chris Paul.

It's amazing how everywhere that CP3 goes the team gets a lot better. I didn't pay much attention to how the Suns played in the bubble. They were only there to even out the number of teams. Everyone knew they had almost zero chance at making the playoffs. It's always easier to play loose when there is no pressure.

They still have AD and you know the Lakers are always going to get something. LeBron has always been an off year guy so we'll see if it was the last go or just an off year. He still looked more than physically capable. Also, I fully expect him to play more at PF/C when the time comes and with the way they call it for him it's up to the rest of the league to match up.

True, but he's not exactly going to the most talentless teams either, ha ha. Also, this is a super off year for the super teams.

A couple of things - James came in very early - he's had more seasons than the far majority of NBA players already. Notice he's getting injured more often, that's not happenstance.....at 37 you don't "heal" nearly as quickly or efficiently as 27 - most pro athletes are retiring (if they're lucky) or already retired at 37.. James is one of the strongest athletes in basketball with a physical style of play. He's as big or bigger than most NFL Tight-ends and a better athlete than most. But All it takes is a hamstring, knee, or ankle next season and he's out 2 months - if unlucky it could side-line him and force retirement. Happens to everyone. The healing time probably doubles or more at 37 from 20s. Kawhi Leonard is 7 years his junion and already hit hard with injury-bug.
