The next game is critical for the Raptors. After this meltdown how they come out and handle business next time will probably set the tone from there on out.

if there is one thing we know about the Raptors, it's that they won't go down easily in this series

True but the problem for them is they're facing a run team. The Raptors are a team that relied on full games to get back. They'll drop a few casually here and there and never seem to panic. With a run team every quarter is like a new game so it's on them to show up every quarter in this series. If they have a lapse it better be in the 5 minute range and nothing more or this will be over before they get close to 7.

their defense is good enough that they will be in the game even if they go on a dry spell on offense

The Warriors used their defense intensity against them this game early to stay in it. It all depends on how the refs call things. In this new NBA the refs can take a tough defensive contest and throw it right out the window. The Raptors are going to have to be willing to adjust on the fly. The big lineup worked at times but that lineup of Ibaka and Siakam was iffy at best. Better hope OG is ready to go because they might need him.

Can’t believe some of y’all are rooting for GSW

Seriously? If you can't believe it, you've obviously not been paying attention. It's been pretty clear for a while that some of us are rooting for DeMarcus, who just happens to be wearing the uniform of the Golden State Warriors.

Even if Boogie wasn’t a Warrior, I’d root for them over Kawhi and the nonsense he pulled with the Spurs.

I am not rooting for Boogie, but I'd agree with your Toronto sentiment were it not for the fact that I think Kawhi may bolt Toronto win or lose. If he's gonna be a dbag, I'd rather he help Toronto win and beat the Warriors in the process.

The Worriers are a very good third quarter team. Last night it was all that mattered. I have to think that Steve Kerr is a much better half time coach.
The intensity of this game made it worth watching. The Raptors could not buy a bucket for long stretches in the second half and only lost by a couple. Their defense kept them in it. They are not going anywhere.

As good as Siakam was in GM1, he surely didn’t repeat it in GM2. In fact, none of the role players sans Van Fleet really produced all that much.

I pretty much knew the Raptors were likely done by mid-Q3. They just weren’t hitting their open shots. They shot too many 3’s when they weren’t going down. Good defense by GSW, but also just bad offense by Toronto. They need better ball/player movement and more easy baskets.

The series is over.

Game 1, Raps basically bet GSW's bigs to beat them. Put four men on the perimeter. One on the ball, another two feet behind the on the ball defender, and the two wing defenders lined parallel to the second defender on the wing. It worked.

Game 2, in the 2h, Warriors dumped the ball to the bigs (Boogie/Bogut), other players dived, and destroyed the Raps in the paint.

Raptors are in a bind. Ditch the perimeter strategy and Boogie destroys them. Play more honest, and Klay, Steph, KD destroys them. This assumes Klay and KD return at some point.

I hope he asks them how long they've been a GSW fan. Cause you sure as hell didn't see that many of them more than 8 years ago.

Hell, up until the past 10 years or so, it was always easier to see the KINGS play in Oakland than it was here in SAC. Oracle or whatever they call it now was referred to as "ARCO West" for good reason.

During the 34 years the KINGS have been here, LA LeBron fans have always been abundant around town. Chicago Bulls fans also had a nice long run. But I rarely saw GSW jerseys until they got really, really good. So IMO 90% of adults are bandwagon, along with really young kids that first attach to whomever is winning.

EH, I think you're jumping to a quick conclusion. I don't think it's over. Hell, Toronto had control of that game until they went cold and GSW got hot. The 18-0 run did them in.

I fully expect this series to go back and forth each game. Both are great teams. Toronto's ability to play lock down defense in stretches should keep them in each and every game.

I mean, think about it. They shot 37.2%, including 28.9% from three, and still had a chance at the end. They get that steal or if Iggy misses that shot, they had a shot for the W.

Now add to the equation that Klay may be banged up and the Raptors are far from done. I also don't think it's reasonable to expect Boogie Cousins to continue playing nearly 30 minutes at the level he did. His stamina isn't there and it'll affect the defense.

Also, if/when KD comes back, stamina could be an issue for him too.
