The biggest losers of the '09 playoffs

we got all the "respect" we deserved when we were contending, i dont agree with posters that said we were shuned blah blah blah, no dude on the real. we sucked, we shouldn't get any respect or coverage. but theres always a silver lining, now that were on the bottom, theres no other way but up.

With all due respect, I disagree. I remember watching ESPN after the Kings played the Lakers (during the year the Kings finished with the best record). EVERY highlight they showed was of the Lakers, and then mentioned at the end that the Kings had won (by close to 20 pts, BTW). I call that getting NO RESPECT. If that was a one time occurance it wouldn't have bothered me, but it wasn't. That is why I rarely watch ESPN unless I am looking at the scroll on the bottom of the screen.

People's unreasonable hostility towards a guy like Marc Stein for pointing out the obvious (to us) for people around the country who may not have been following never fails to amaze me.

Every single thing he said was right. Every thing. Nothing overstated. Nothing spun. Nothing we haven't said ourselves around here. But because ooh, somebody in the national media has the audacity to take notice and call us on our woes, must be evil. Huh?

TRIPLE DITTO from SolanaDude!!!

How about because we have had, without a single doubt to anybody not on this board, the WORST 12 months on any team in the NBA. We finished with the worst record, just hired our 3rd coach in 6 months, traded away half the team, got screwed in the draft, whiffed on our top coaching candidate, and have an arena issue threatening to chase the team from the town within the year.

Kings fans have a raging and very off putting insecurity issue and whine incessantly about no respect this nobody pays attention that. Well some of them are paying attention. They are paying attention to us sucking it up right now. This is the attention you get when you are at the very bottom and nothing, not one thing, is going right. But I see, we only want attention when it involves blowing smoke up our behinds and being told how wonderful we are even while there are a dozen threads around here now wondering how we got in this mess and how we are going to get out.

We may be the worst team in the league, but we have more going for us than some others. Evidence of this is that a guy like Rubio would rather play here than Memphis or OKC. OKC has a very bright future, but I can't imagine what it's like being a Grizzlies fan. No offence to any of them, but there team hasn't had much success. And, they have an owner who is notorious for not having deep pockets. At least we can look back to yesteryear when our owners were willing to spend and hope that, as their recent comments would suggest, they are open to doing so again. Also, as small as Sacramento is, we're not OKC or Memphis small. In fact, our media market is much larger than that of Las Vegas as well. The team could move, but the odds are still against that happening. Now, I don't disagree that we haven't had much luck lately, and things have been pretty bad, but it always could be worse. Even teams like the Knicks, being the darlings of New York, are in a relatively worse position than us. Furthermore, when it's all said and done, we're still not the Clippers.

I guess we should be thankful that we're considered losers. Because it means we actually have good times. The clips and the grizzlies and stuff are like where we are, only they're there all the time. We, on the other hand have nowhere to go but up up up

come on, those two franchises are at the same level as us, if not better. the sonics are light-years ahead with the youth movement, a star in the making, and a seemingly smart GM.

the grizzlies have talent and youth as well (gay, conley, mayo, gasol). they're missing some pieces same as we are, and their GM is suspect, but then again...so is ours. PLUS they have the #2 pick which several teams are willing to trade for. i'd say that currently, they are better off than us.

just about the only franchise who may be below us is the clippers, because their front office is more atrocious than any other (now that isiah is gone).
