No, they are 07-08. What they fogot tomention was he only played in about 15 games to boot.

But that's all just silly either way. There is a reason why he is up on that list, and that is because, we, as a franchise, have been stupid on yet another front. The reason that he is up there, and not others, is because NBA teams do not perpetually keep $7 million in dead salary on the ends of their benches -- they buy them out and shave what they can off the total.

Played in 23 gms btw while giving us those wondrful 1.4pts 2.7rebs. On .421 shooting. While not blocking a shot all season.

Mateen may not have reached the heights as a player but he was an excellent teammate. He was always cheering for his team, rooting them on, even when he knew he stood NO chance of playing.

agreed, the-antithomas

its not like he was the number 1 highest paid bench warmer... kwame, ratliff and raef are on that list to and they make way more than thomas...

I was just about to mention Raef LaFrentz. Ratliff actually had some meaningful playing time this season, when he wasn't injured.

I'll go with Steve Francis. 5.2/2/3 in 10 games, over $17 million salary.
