The bench steps up once again

combining for 10 points and 4 rebounds in over 41 minutes would be the stat line for the bench in last nights game. on most nights most of our starters are pretty consistant. but we can't put in someone from the bench without choking away the game.

10 pts, 4 rebs in 41 min...Ack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

The most efficient guy on the bench is Corliss. He scores ~1 pt every 2 minutes he is in the game average throughout his career and last year. If he was in for 20 minutes, we would see 10 pts from him.

Sorry but our "bench" consisted of Hart, Garcia and Thomas. Not necessarily alot of offense there except with Thomas but he struggles against bigger teams.

Yes, agreed. Needed Corlis and Skinner to take minutes from KT. For some reason I do not like his game this year.

Not only does the bench struggle offensively, but they can't defend either. Although Hart does a nice job of looking like he wants to play some serious defense, he hasn't shown it yet. With the way things are going now, if the starters don't combine for at least 90-96 points, we're not going to win any games.

this is pathetic.... we'd be much better off with the roster that we had last season.... much, much better....

its to keep saying that..... how we lost house and darius for nothing.... bobby brought us bonzi, but damn..... how in the hell did we fall off so damn fast?

Also lost Barnes and Evans. One of them we can and should get back, in Matt Barnes. Who is an improved player from when he was with us. Him, or another swingman out there who can bring something.

I don't know if any of us expected Corliss/Skinner to not be used much.

Corliss was obvious -- there was no hope for minutes there with Thomas ahaead of him. But no Skinner and SAR as our backup center was kind of my worst case scenario.

I agree. I'm a SAR fan and even I would never advocate playing him at center unless the matchup is extremely favorable. It only exacerbates his rebounding problems and he has a much harder time getting his shot off. Adelman's really needs to put Skinner in during those times, even if it's only for a little while.

Yeah, but I didn't expect it like this for Corliss.

Thats really, really, SAD. :(

Rick Adelman keeps forgetting that Corliss can play small forward too. Wouldn't that be something? The Kings having 3 guys that can play with their back to the basket on the floor at the same time. It might cause a cosmic collapse.

Or a spacing collapse. Post players begin to strangle each other after a while.

Not neccessarily. All three of them can make parimeter shots and cut to the basket. It would be a problem for other teams. The Kings could isolate and post up at three positions. Opponents would have to start doubling, which would give the Kings some open shots.
