Thank you Ron and Good Luck

Entity

Hall of Famer
Well guys as a tradition here we always send a farewell to players traded or leaving for other reasons. So despite your feelings toward Ron. Lets be gentle and not turn this into your final bash of the guy. In fact this is one of those (if you don't have anything nice to say) deals. So here goes

Thank you Ron for your passion and emotion on the court while a King. Your effort on the court is unsurpassable by many players in the NBA and is what I loved best about your game. All the on court attributes you gave to the team will be missed. I hope you do well with t-mac and yao. Good luck to you and your family (especially your daughter). I will miss the Ron Artest show with carmichael dave.

P.S. sorry I put Thanky in the title

Ron Artest you're a true NBA warrior and I respect that tremendously.

I wish you nothing but the best as a Houston Rocket where you will have perhaps the best opportunity of your career to win a championship with great players like Yao Ming, TMac and your excellent former coach Rick Adelman.

Best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Thanks for everything Ron. I only wish that we had traded for you sooner (when Peja orignially demanded a trade in '04). You made a great run with Bonzi and Rick, but when that group was disbanded it was time to pack things up. Thanks for giving it your all.

Thanks Ron for everything you gave to us as a King. Good luck in Houston, and i hope you can help get Adelman the championship he deserves.

Wish him all the luck. Nobody can question the guy's heart, but his head is another story altogether. Hopefully some of his intensity and passion has rubbed off on our players. Oh and Beat LA.

despite all the sh*t that people on here say, ron artest played with heart.

did he always play to the coach's plan, game plan? no.
did he play with a plan at all? no.
did he stop making distractions that were not basketball related? no.
did he shut his mouth and censor himself for all but pc comments like all of the other players do? no.

ron artest played hard, and with heart. sometimes its in the wrong place, sometimes its mixed with some other logic. but he has a good heart, and he's grown here as a person. hes done some bad here in sac, as a king. but hes done good in the world, as a person. and at the end of the day, id take that trade a million times. the nba has enabled him to have the opportunity to change lives who need it more than us.

thank you for your efforts, on and off the court. you play with heart, and with it on your sleeve. despite what detractors say, these qualities are rare in a person, especially those in the spotlight.

Did you read the original post? There's no reason to trash him again for one last time. You've had plenty of opportunities to do that already.

I agree and want to remember the positives as well. Like getting to Sac and immediately guaranteeing the Kings would make the playoffs - seemingly impossible at time late in the season. Then along with Bonzi and the crew as 8th seed taking number one overall San Antonio through six extremely hard fought games. The Spurs were so beat up after that playoffs with Artest leading the Kings they were eliminated in next round. Coach Pop said huge toll Artest and the Kings had taken out on his team may have been the reason they went no further that year.

Ron, you are a beautiful man. Your passionate heart and love for the great game of basketball has been an inspiration to us all. The wonderful community of Sacramento is so proud of all you have been and will become. It is with so much warmth that you will be remembered fondly.

May we all hold up a cup and toast you one last time. We wish you many championships and successes. If anyone deserves it, it is you Ron. You have said some things we may not like, but who are we to judge.

NGTFOOHADCB!

Thanks for everything Ron. Kings fans did enjoy your time on the court and we appreciate everything! Good luck in Houston.

I'll miss ya Ron. I enjoyed your play with the Kings. Now go Kick the LAKERS ASSES with the Rockets. They'll love you for it and so will I.

Hey Ron Ron, as much crap as alot of people in Sacramento talked about how much of a 'distraction' you were, as far as I'm concerned, you always gave everything you had and brought 110% even when you were hurt. And I definitely was a fan of yours since day 1 when you got here! I wish you nothing but the best in Houston with Coach Adelman! Thanks Tru Warier!

This thread is for positive goodbyes only.

Good luck with Rick in Houston. I wish you all the best unless you are playing the Kings.

Ron - You brought intensity and passion to the Kings. Good luck in Houston. I hope you can find what you've been looking for. Just put it all out there on the court and let your game speak for you. AND DON'T take your personal life to the media!!!

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for livening things up around here and giving us some good memories.

Don't play too hard against us, save it for the Lakers and Spurs!

Ron, I certainly appreciated the "glass is half full" attitude you brought to the Kings when you were traded to Sac. Thanks to you, we made the playoffs that year and gave the Spurs one hell of a fight. Your passion on the court was fun to watch and greatly appreciated.

Good luck in Houston (Kings midwest) with Coach Adelman, all of his assistants that were in Sac with him, and Bonzi. Go win a championship and tell Yao and Tracy to stay healthy!!!

-Fresno King

Thank you Ron for playing with heart! Your 2 spg , and lock down defense will be greatly missed on our team... I just hope Rick wont burn you out like he does with all his players... Make sure he doesnt play you over 30mins a game :D You dont want to be wore out like Yao and T-mac...

Good Luck RON!!

I love this thread! Never thought I would see it after what has been said about him here...I must say, nice stepping up fellow Kings fans!

:)

I loved Artest from the first day he got here. He is one of my favorites in the NBA after his time in Sacto, and I know that he is going to go help Houston do something big!

Good luck Ron, and thanks for the time!
