Suns post a 13-point win over the Rockets tonight (4/3), keeping the Kings in the 5th spot in the West for the time being.

Yes this is a good thing. Suns clinced the division regardless. And I still think that the Kings are so inside Dalas's head that they are an easier first round opponet than the Sonics... but the bracket will be tough!

^mmm i agree...glad that it was a 13 point win i got a little worried when i saw them down by 2 at halftime...

Did Yao play does anyone know?

Joke is that unless we get rolling here NEITHER Houston nor Sac may take the 5th spot -- Denver looks hungrier than both squads combined right now.

I thought about that!

Luckily, for the Kings they have the tie breaker. So, even if they go 4-3 down the stretch Denver would have to go 9-1 in their final ten games. Not sure about Denver's head to head with Houston.

I don't know the Kings final seven opponents, but seeing as they are 9-9 since the CWebb trade (from VF21's post in the Kings forum), 4-3 isn't just a given anymore with this Kings' team (especially considering the injuries).

Yeah thank goodness that Houston shot 34%....a team actually shot WORSE than we did last night! I honestly don't care if we come into the playoffs at 5th or 6th spot as long as we don't come in DEAD last and end up facing Phoenix or the Spurs in the first round. This year the Western conference competition is TOUGH and we just aren't the team we once were so who knows what will happen...

the kings are two losses away from the eighth spot. they better get it in gear or they'll be looking at the longest climb for the playoffs that they could imagine.

despite KG's better mood, i just don't see them catching up with anyone. wolves have to run the table unless some team falters like the bucks did a couple years ago. hey wait a minute, did karl coach that team?

Just curious---What makes you say the Kings are so inside Dallas' head?

The Kings history of eliminating Dallas. The only time Dallas was able to beat Sac in the play offs the Kings were without Webber and it still took a close game 7.

We're without a lot more than Webber right now. I don't think they even consider stuff that happened years ago. Especially since only about a couple guys on our squad are still left from 2 years ago. Dallas plays defense now. More than we do anyway.

Our up comming schedule looks pretty good, i like our chances. Either the Mavs or the Sonics, i think both of them are beatable. Just as long as we dont go down to the 7th spot and face the Suns or the Spurs. We need to at least be prepared for them later on. So we gotta try and avoid that 7th spot. Well from looking at the upcomming schedule... heres my prediction..

Tue. 5: Seattle- Win (Come on now... we gotta finish this season with at least one win against them)

Fri. 8: @ Portland- Win (we always have problems against these guys but we'll win this one for sure. )

Sun. 10: Lakers- Win

Fri. 15: @ Lakers- Lose

Sat. 16: @ Suns- Lose (Kings will be tired since its on back to back nights, they need that energy if their gonna face the suns)

Mon 18: @ Jazz- Win (cmon now... thats a given)

Wed 20: Suns- Win (homecourt, rest, Bobby Jacksons back, We'll win this time. )

So we might go 5-2 probably 5-3. But with Bjax back i think we can do this.

So what do you guys think?

I think that 5-2 is seven games and 5-3 is eight games!

Seriously, I think the Kings can go 5-2. Even with Kobe the Kings should beat the Lakers twice. Seattle and Utah should be wins. Phoenix at the end will be interesting because more than likely that game will not mean anything to the Suns and they may rest soem of their players.

how about 8-0

The fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth seeds in the Western Conference will continue to change until the season ends. I think that with injuries to Lewis and whats-his-name, and with their dip-chit power forward getting suspended, I would rather see the Kings play Seattle in the first round.

No one wants that 5th spot!

It's looking like that. Houston has gelled really well, but these past few games, It's like they aren't even trying.

There just isn't any priority to get that 5th spot. If they can get guys back on the floor in time, I personally like Seattle over Houston.

don't thank the Suns....the Rockets lost on purspose....remember ;) ....at least that's how the rocket's fans will explain every loss between now and the end of the season.

The only one I totally disagree with you about is the our loss @ Lakers. I think that is a VERY winable game for us. As far as our game @ Utah....if I've learned anything it's that NO game is a given, and whenever anyone says that we always end up getting our butts kicked by what we thought was a mediocre team.
