29th of 30 rebounding 39.2/gm
29th of 30 assists at 17.9/gm

12th of 30 3-pt FG% at 36%
8th of 30 free throw attempts at 27.0/gm
4th of 30 free throw % at 79.5%

Based on these horrible team stats, it looks like we most need to focus on defense,
i.e. rebounding, points allowed, and holding on to the damn ball.

Yeah, pretty much tracks with the two times I have looked at them this year too -- mid November, and then end of December roughly I think. And the strengths, such as they are, of steals and FTs, are exactly the same two things we had going for us last year. The stats can't really be considered too surprising -- we are a team full of scorers at every position, but little else. Everybody's primary skill is scoring. Our OGs and SFs, sure. That's their jobs. But our centers and PGs as well (our PFs are merely incompetent). Nobody specializes in all the other things that make you win -- rebounding, blocking shots, passing as a PG etc.

The stats have been saying its a minor miracle we are not worse then we are, although another stat -- that we have played almost half of our games so far against teams from the Least, might help explain things.

Those stats are about what we'd expect, I think... nobody'd ever watch one of our games and mistake the Kings for a team that was good on the boards, or had a high assist/TO ratio.

The bigger surprise for me has been in the individual stats. Jones is looking VERY positive so far, more so than some starters. Cisco is looking worse than I would have guessed. Mikki does not fare well at ALL, but that's not big news.
