Talented? Competitive? Complementary? Young?...All of the Above

All-Star
Trade #1
Other Team Gets:
Marco Belinelli
Kings Get: Top 55 protected 2nd round pick
Reason: Gives us more cap space, and I'm sure we could find someone to take him for free considering all the massive contracts that will be handed out

Trade #2
Bulls Get:
Darren Collison, Kosta Koufos, Omri Casspi, & James Anderson
Kings Get: Nikola Mirotic, Doug McDermott, & Tony Snell
Reason: Gives us a little more cap space but it also moves are talent that doesn't compliment some of the core pieces on this team. Plus, Mirotic, McDermott, & Snell are all on the younger side and can grow with Cousins. The Bulls get a solid backup PG on a great deal behind an injury prone Rose as well as a starting caliber center who pairs nicely with both Gibson & Portis. Lastly, they upgrade their SF position with Casspi.

2016 Draft
Select Buddy Hield with the 7th pick

you would really trade Belinelli for a second round pick? I'm sure he has more value than that, if not by himself at least in a packaged trade.

If it's the difference between having enough cap space to sign a Barnes, Bazemore, Crabbe, or Lee, every single time.

Alternative to this would be to move on without Rondo...
  1. Butler opts out
  2. No QO for Moreland
  3. Waive Dukan
  4. Trade Belinelli for protected 2nd
  5. Trade Koufos/McLemore for Mirotic/Snell
  6. Trade Gay for T. Evans
  7. Draft J. Murray
  8. Sign H. Barnes to the max
  9. Sign Crabbe to $70 mil/4 years
  10. Sign Aldrich to MLE

PG - Collison/Evans/Curry
SG - Crabbe/Murray/Snell
SF - Barnes/Casspi/Anderson
PF - Cauley-Stein/Mirotic/Acy
C - Cousins/Aldrich

Then next year you have Murray, Crabbe, Barnes, Cauley-Stein, Cousins, & Aldrich under contract with $33.6 mil in cap space. With that cap space, you can sign one a big FA PG (Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Lowry, Teague, Evans, Holiday, Schroder, Hill, Collison, or Rose.

PG - Lowry
SG - Crabbe/Murray
SF - Barnes
PF - Cauley-Stein
C - Cousins/Aldrich

That's a pretty darn good core.
