T.o...

Being a Philly native i certainly have my strong feelings about this guy but i never believed he could be so wrapped in himself that he couldn't let go of the bs for at least one season in Dallas. He is ridiculous and it hurts to see how the NFL or should i say Jerry Jones, puts up w/ him. "He can help us win games" is what Jerry says. When does it get to be about dignity and football again. This guy is just a pathetic excuse for a football player.

Indeed. I have long considered Owens to be about as despicable a "professional" athlete as you are likely to find and generally hoped his career would end tommorow, but even I thought/assumed that he would put on a good teammate show for maybe one season in Dallas to "show everybody". For him to **** up so early is just...the turd must be completely delusional. Not just egomaniacal, but borderline nuts in truly believing he is invulnerable and irreplaceable. That the world revolves around him.

What intrigues me most about this guy who ends up being a posterboy for the self-indulgent professional athlete (what happened to sport) is that this he was known to be the consumate good guy when he came into the league. Courteous, considerate, 'yes sir, no sir.' Talk about ego taking one hostage. But again, this guy is in so deep that he can't seem to recover a trace of dignity/decorum. Maybe he HAS gone psycho. Maybe that's it in a 'nutshell.'
