Everyone can vote for these playoff match-ups (even if you didn't participate in the draft). Don't be shy!

Feel free to back-up your rationale here:).

jalfa, consider me ignorant, but I've only heard of two of your guys.. I'm wiki-surfing the others, but Low has 4 solid picks (Superman and Aspen... not doin it for me).

You're write-up was very good and in-depth, so that gets you a few points.

Eriond v Superman - Jalfa 1, Lowenherz 0
Lobsang Ludd v Optimus - Jalfa 1, Low 1
Dr. Manhattan v Captain America - Jalfa 2, Low 1
Väinämöinen v Raiden, Jalfa 2, Low 2
Cole McGrath v Samus, Jalfa 2, Low 3 (epic battle, I just don't see Samus losing though)
Aspen Mathews v The Haitian Jalfa 3, Low 3
write-up, Jalfa 4, Low 3
Location, Jalfa 4, Low 4

At this point, I'll just pick my favorites from each team...

Optimus, Raiden, and Samus

v

Dr. Manhattan and the Haitian

The Haitian is useless because technically no one that Lowenherz has uses superpowers, so the most he could do is make people forget that they are heroes, and to do that, he would have to touch them - something that I highly doubt Samus and Raiden would even consider let happen.

Dr. Manhattan could easily get rid of Samus and Raiden, but only a Prime can kill another Prime, and Optimus and Manhattan would be on Liberty Island, so I'm thinking this is like a Kong v Godzilla fight... only Godzilla is giant, naked, and doesn't particularly care about the semantics of triumph, and being that he can't win against Optimus, I doubt he even gives a thought to trying.

So, Jalfa 4, Low 5

and the victor is Lowenherz

Sorry Jalfa! You put up one helluva fight, and even though Captain America and Superman are lame, his team of popular icons bests your team of somewhat obscure figures.

(ps: had you chosen someone other than Cole McGrath, you probably could have gotten my vote. Nightcrawler would have been an awesome fit, but I noticed you were trying to stay away from conventional comic book heroes... maybe Raistlin Majere too, if you know who I am talking about)

Thanks Venom! Although, never would have thought Superman would be my weakest link ...

And Aspen is the Flava Flav of my team. I don't know what she brings, but she brings something ... not to mention looks much better in a bikini than Flava Flav.

As for Venom's match-up, it really isn't a contest. I'm not seduced by the novelty of Deadpool and other than Captain Marvel and Cloud it's a little too Marvel/single source heavy for my tastes.

Deadpool is by far my favorite all time comic book hero, but he doesn't get along with Wolverine (In fact, in the source material, he goes out of his way to prod and poke and annoy him - sometimes, way out of his way).

If you take the individual rankings and versus them like 1. v 1. and 3. v 3., it makes for quite the battle.

Except Ghost Rider and Iceman... Maybe I'm a homer, but I don't think Iceman even flinches at Ghost Rider.

Peter Petrelli v Deadpool would be awesome, only because they wouldn't be able to really harm each other, and I think Deadpool is witty enough to make Peter cry.

As for Phoenix vs Beast, that's already happened... and, well you can guess the outcome.

V v. Captain Marvel - Even though V is just cooler by far, Captain Marvel probably takes this one.

Wolverine v. The Flash - Wolverine beat Quiksilver in a fight once, so I'd imagine it would be no different with the Flash. Goes to knife-fingers.

Iceman - Ghostrider .......Iceman..... The islands are surrounded by potential ice. The other guy is a dude with a flaming skull for a head. Hmmmmmmmm

Leonidas v. Cloud Strife - Epic. Cloud has the bigger sword, but I also think his hair is dumb. Leonidas is probably quicker, and he can kick anything into a well. I'ma go with the King.

Me, 4, GW3 2.

I AM being biased when I say my writeup is better, but please don't disregard the effort he put into his own, it was enjoyable as well.
