First of all - thanks to the 2 people who filled in for me on Sunday.
------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 11th 2004 Kings beat Lakers @ ARCO 102-85 to improve to 55-25 record for the season. Kings won the first quarter 31-15 and never looked back. Webber lead Kings with 25/12/3/2st, DC had 21/3/5/3st, Bibby had 15/1/8/3st, Pedja had 13/9. bench was solid - lead by Brad who had 12/8/4.

Christie scored 21 points while shutting down Bryant and Webber added 25 points and 12 rebounds as the Kings routed the Lakers, 102-85, to take a one-game lead atop the Pacific with two games remaining. The Kings scored the first eight points and led thereafter as they improved to 55-25, one game behind Minnesota (56-24) for the best record in the Western Conference.

"I'm not going to answer any questions," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "I'm just extremely disappointed in our performance of our team in a key game like this. (It was) an afternoon where I thought we wanted to play good basketball. There are a number of things that play into it. But we're
disappointed in our performance. And it showed."

"(Kobe) was getting double-, triple-teamed and was kicking it out," said O'Neal, who has referred to the Kings as the "Queens." "When he kicks it out, guys have to either kick it back to him or take the shot. "We let them take us out of our game. And I'm still not impressed."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings @ 41-37 have their magic number for the POs down to 3. 4 games above .500, 3 games winning streak and as a consequence a 7th position in the Western conference with a nice perspective to stay there. Strong finish is what every team wants before starting the post season - and Kings are doing just that. With 4 games left- we just have to stay focused and healthy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, after a long trip a Kings double header (tape delayed) wes a right medicine. You don't get to see Kings win twice in 4 hrs every day. I enjoyed the Clippers game much more just because we own them and the winner was set before the game ever started. The Rockets game was very hard to watch.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
That loss to the Mavs suddendly looks positive. Kings seem to have learned the lesson. Since that game the effort has been there and it resulted in 3 straight wins. Now, I still think that the professional athletes should play focused and with purpose at all times but sometimes such a loss can really open Your eyes. In our case - so far, so good.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also want to mention that Wo;ves will yet again have a early vacation. Not that long ago they were "contenders" at leadt for a freak show considering the golumn, Pippi 1 and pippi 2. Speaking of Pippi 2 - Latrel is still waiting for those 14 millions that he needs to save his family from starvation. He had a great season so far. Very ci=onsistant.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Award time as usual at this point. TDM - award went to Luther head who seems to enjoy playing Kings. 13/4/4 on 5-10 shooting is nothing spectacular but still very solid.
LW-VC award went to Reefer Alston who sucked beyond normal even by his standards. he scored 1 point while missing all 11 shots from the field. He also had 4 turnovers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw the game on the tape and there is no question about it - it was very ugly. Then again an ugly victory is a victory too. Yao and Howard just weren't enough this time. If TMac ever get healthy again and Rockets get a solid PG - they can be really good. at the moment - they are just an opponent with a nice cosmetical value (makes the record look better). Luckly, JVG lost his hair long time ago.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suns are next and it might be the prewiev of the 1st round. We should just send a message - so they know that we won't go anywhere - easily. Should be fun game and also it should make up for the Houston game. Nash vs Bibby should be fun. We really need this one if we want to stay where we are,
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - Nash will bring the best in him.
Brad - very nice from Brad - can he do it again
Ron - pils working well. First side effects reported - Ron has been somewhat delusional lately.
SAR - evern outsucked KT
Bonzi - he just keeps playing hard.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - only "lost" the LW-VC award because Alston was too good.
Cisco - ready for more minutes
Kevin - are we back to square 1 ?
Rest - Mateen
------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - we need more bench production
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suns are fun to watch. Should be a good one. Diaw will get a tripple double. Nash will go against Bibby. Marion will have 15 rebounds. TDM award will go to Tim Thomas. LW-VC award will go to Eddie House. Raja Bell will continue to work towards his LW-VC - award for lifetime achievement. He is a punk.

Kings should win.

The Suns have the division and 2nd seed locked up. I read that the Suns will be limiting Nash's and Marion's minutes as the season winds down. Nash has his hammy bothering him again, so I doubt he will play + 30 minutes. Even yesterday vs the Sonics he played only 30 minutes.

Do you think we should take up a collection or maybe plan a telethon or something?

;)

Good to have you back, piksi. venom7 and Bibby4three did a good job, but there's no piksimism like the REAL piksimism.

:D

It's time for Brad to destroy the Suns. No real center for the Suns to compete with him. Hmmm...... Bibby vs. Nash. Bad Defender vs. Bad Defender.

It's going to be an interesting game. If we can win this one we'll definitely be sending out a message that we're a force to be reckoned with.
nice to have you back piksi:)

Statement game for the Kings, if we can take the Suns out, they will be worried come playoff time..

I hope Artest can take Diaw/Marion out the game.
I'm hoping for Marion; I need Diaw to have a decent night.

we will get any shot we want against this suns defense. i really think the focus for tonight should be our defense. work on ways to slow down nash and marion and cease production from thier role players

Im kinda lost. Why has Ron been delusional lately?
Ron thinks he's the MVP of the NBA...

As a side note, this is a HUGE game... This seems to be one of the only two losable games from the Kings (the other one being in Denver) while if you look at the Lakers they appear to only have one (Phoenix at home) so the Kings MUST win this one. If they lose this or in fact any games they have a good chance of falling to the eight seed.

I'd say he is a 2nd half MVP, next to LeBron and Wade
Lebron yes, but Wade no only because the Heat having been struggling as of late and have a chance to lose the 2nd seed to New Jersey. The Cavs, however, having been rolling as they had a 9 game win streak of their own and snapped the Net's 14 game winning streak. Lebron is a 4th quarter monster.

Minni Me will own Nash like he always has. Nash is still a defensive liability regardless of his assist totals.

For the most part though, Wade's been incredible, and they wouldn't be where they are now without him. Take him out and the team (this season or the 2nd half) loses much more, loses basically all of it's athleticism (that doesn't mean just dunks and quickness to the basket), ton of offense, and the 2nd seed to NJ ;). I put Wade second to LeBron and Artest, but still couldn't overlook what Wade's done, so I mentioned him.

Looking at the past box-scores I see that whenever Nash plays well the Suns win (duhhh):D ! Although that probably doesn't mean anything because we've only had Ron for one game against them.

I think ron should guard Nash... what do yall think??? put bibby on bell, bonzi on marion, miller on diaw and kenny/sar on tim thomas?

If we shut down nash, we shut down the suns.
