Stanford Schedule?

Anyone have any idea when the Stanford Women's basketball schedule is released? Their site is still showing schedule/results for last year.

I would love to go down for a game (particularly Tennessee).

I found the schedule on the booster site...not sure what the athletic department is waiting for to update their website. http://www.stanfordfbc.org/FBCFiles/2005calendar.htm

Stanford goes to Tennessee this season. But a game I've circled for my roady this year is Texas Tech on Dec 3rd. We're working on plans to gather up post game in/around Palo Alto and go somewhere to watch Tennessee play North Carolina on ESPN later that afternoon.

I'm interested in seeing UCLA senior Noelle Quinn (we saw the other members of UCLA's Big Three Lisa Willis and Nikki Blue enter the W this year, Quinn is the best of the three) at Stanford. That game however is on a weeknight in February. UCLA's visit to CAL is a little better schedule wise because its a weekend, and CAL does have a few players to watch including their point guard who is Kara Lawson's cousin. But if I go to CAL, I'm not fulfilling my Candice Wiggins quota for the year. :)

Don't quote me but I believe both the Stanford @ Tennessee and @ Georgia games in late November will be televised by someone. I could have sworn I'd seen the SEC's TV schedule already somewhere. But those might be pretty enticing reasons to gather somewhere and watch a game together locally. We gotta scout future W talent don't we? ;) As soon as the full national TV schedule is up somewhere where I don't have to piece it together from individual conference press releases I'll post a thread here for TV alerts and whatnot.

Also, to get your calendars marked early, I'm also proposing (again) that we trek to San Jose to see day 2 of the PAC-10 tournament March 3rd. 4 games for the price of two. The semis and finals are televised so if we wanted we could just watch those somewhere locally, but not only that,we can catch several other conferences' semi finals and finals that same day. (Can you tell how I spend my early March? ;))

6th, I'll catch you up for sure on what's going on for the 12/3 trip. My bad for not doing it sooner.

Spell check! ;)

I'll let you know when I come across anything.

Dang! I know there is no d in Stanford, but I did it twice. In fact, when I just typed it out this time, my finger hit that d before the f. :o

Thanks, MBF. Looking forward to a trip or 2 this year.

I am all for trekking down to San Jose for the Pac !0 tourney.

Of course since I am a bit Local, So Driving Down there is not a Big Woo! But If yall want to make a Weekend out of it, Lets get on teh good Foot Because Hotel Rooms will empty pretty Quickly.

I will try to do some leg Work about the Area.

I have a friend who is getting her Travel Agent Licence, and We may be able to get better than the standard rates. In fact this may be the case for the The MVP Roadtrip also.

MBF has also designated me as the Finder of Food and Wide Screen person. Too Bad our Resident Stanford Person will be galivanting Thru Spain, rather than hanging with Us, Drinking Beer and Watching High Caliber Basketball.

But I am up to the Task. I think...

I will Talk to Lil Q's Auntie. See what she can come up with.

Would love to consider a weekend of it...I may think about it. The last couple of years, something's come up and I've had to be in the office or traveling for business for parts of that tournament.

If we get enough people, my ticket rep may get us a group rate for tourney tix. So let's think about that too.

Holy cow....did some checking around....Sac State will hook up with North Carolina in the Rainbow Classic in Hawaii....maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I hope Comcast picks that game up.....

When I go back East to visit family for the holidays, I will juuuuuuuuuuuust miss UConn's visit to Chapel Hill. Got'Dangit!! ::footstomp::

On another message board that I regularly visit (which is not basketball-related), I know of a loyal U.C. Cal Berkeley alum who refers to Stanford as "the eternally damnable and dastardly leland stanfurd --- [pause] --- JUNIOR university". :D

And yes, he uses small letters and intentionally spells it "stanfurd". :)

On another thread, 6th was wondering about the schedule for the Stanford Lady Cardinal.

It just came out, and this is what I found:

They're playing the Lady Vols again this year, on Nov. 24 (Friday). But this time, it's in Knoxville. Two days later, they will be at Athens, GA to play the Univ. of Georgia (whose assistant coach is ex-Monarch La'Keshia Frett).

However, the out-of-state opponents who will be playing at the Maples Pavilion are Missouri, Texas Tech, Utah, and South Carolina.

The Lady Cardinal's first pre-season exhibition game will be against Chico State, whose new head coach is ex-Cardinal (and briefly, ex-Monarch) Molly Goodenbour.

Chico state is fine, she's just helping Molly out by giving her a decent opponent to play.

Our field trip is to the Texas Tech game on 12/3. Anybody who wants to join me for the UCLA game is more than welcome as well. Unless I decide to go see UCLA at CAL that is. ;)

Um...folks...not sure how I missed this....BUT...Stanford will also be hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA tourney. That's definitely worthy of a road trip with a capitol DEFINTELY....The two rounds are good for I believe 5 games.

Oh, yeah!! Do we have dates on this yet? How soon do we have to order/pay for these?

Just checked the NCAA schedule...the Stanford rounds will be held on March 17th and 19th, 2007, which is a Saturday/Monday combo. According to the site, the ticket price for all sessions will be $63 - I believe they sell those as a package rather than single session.

I think I shorted that game total for the # of sessions - I believe there are 8 teams assigned to each venue in the first round and from there two teams will advance to the regional semis (round 3). Sooooo, that would actually be four games in round one and 2 games in round two. But that would make the session package price a freakin' bargin. I'll call and find out, but the short answer is that we buy those through Stanford's box office. I don't believe they are available for purchase yet.

Hoollee Guacamole...the closest regional host is Fresno!!! So....we could decide if we want to also make the trek to down to Fresno to see who advances out to the Final Four...those games will take place March 24th and 26th. The tickets are 50something bucks and they have a group price of 40 bucks.
