Thanks for the kind congrats. Altho I'm glad the Monarchs won, I'm sorry your Comets weren't able to make it more competitive. I was really surprised and a bit perplexed.

No Kidding!!!

We were Robbed and so was she.

Fortunately we were able to run into her at Barns and Noble. Or whatever that bookstore was.

We got to personally give her well wishes. But Yeah that Sucked.

But We don't have to Miss an opportunity for Our Favorite Lil DWalk who is on her way to College.

She Next Thread...

Right after the game ended, I had hoped that one of the Monarchs would've taken the microphone (as they usually do immediately after a game) and announced to the crowd to get Dawn Staley back out on the court for one last final bow. But, unfortunately, it didn't happen. :(

Anyway, thanks for a great career, Dawn!

That acknowledgement should have happened during the game, and circumstances Van created didn't allow that to happen. She should have been the last starter pulled off the floor when Van decided to toss in the towel and empty the bench. Dawn had already left the floor by then. He could have inserted her back in with that bench group and then subbed her out a few minutes later. The crowd would have figured out what to do.

I don't think it had a chance in hades of happening after the game. Although for a second it did look like Pam Kay was trying to hand the microphone to Dawn before she handed it to DeMya.

I was very suprised that Staley wasn't honored in some way during or after the game. I kept waiting for it to happen. After all she has done for the league, it's shocking that she wouldn't receive some kind of recognition, even just briefly. My only thought on why that didn't happen was perhaps she specifically asked for nothing to be done?? Maybe she just wanted for it to go about like any other normal game.

She was honored after her final regular season game in Houston with a half hour ceremony. I don't think anything other than that was going to happen other than a crowd acknowledgement whenever she played her last game.

My sense is that she likely didn't want anything.
