Sports injuries

I split my chin open last night playing soccer (nothing serious, 1/4" cut but somewhat deep and it wouldn't stop bleeding). I though it might be an interesting topic of conversation. What is the worst sports injury you ever had?

My list is pretty extensive, but nothing overly gross. I had a broken wrist, numerous twisted ankles, couple of knee injuries (not Webberesque :) ), had to get few stitches in my head once and this latest chin cut.

My wife gets mad at me because I almost never want to go see a doctor, especially over ankle injures and my knee injuries. I'm sure it will come to haunt me later.

I hope you're OK, vj9999. I understand your wife cause I wouldn't like it if my boyfriend/hubby was always hurt. :D

I don't play sport...so I have never suffer bad injuries. When I do, it's just something clumpsy I do on my own or if someone push me. :D

The worst sports injury I had was only a sprained ankle in a basketball game when I was trying to go after a loose ball...it hurt like crazy and it was swollen for a several days....nothing too serious though.....hope your chin gets better, vj9999!

My chin is feeling better already today :) but my wife still thinks I am irresponsible when it comes to taking care of my self :)

Don't let her wussify you. ;) Real men NEVER go to the doctor unless they need something stitched up or set in a cast. :)

Have had five broken bones, torn ligaments in both ankes, separated shoulder, torn rotator cuff, torn ligaments in the elbow, torn ligaments in the thumb, three broken teeth, stitches under one eye, over the other, and on both knees, and more sprains, jams, gashes, pulls and brusies than you can shake a stick at. But have managed to avoid the debilitating knee injuries, so I'm actually relatively happy -- that's always been the one injury I have dreaded.

Wow, I know you’re in a tough line of work… but I had no idea it was that tough! ;)

That's my excuse too. I just tell her.. I don't want to pay money for something that can heal on its own :)

i torn cartlidge in my knee doing a wolf jump on the tennis court ( i was messing around) and had to have a scope to fix it. thats the last time i mess around on the tennis court ( yah right :D )

i've had all kinds of minor ailments from gymnastics, lots of rips on the hands from the bars ( at one point in time i had 14 rips between the 2 hands) bruises, scrapes, the norm.

Dislocated knee, dislocated knee-cap (that was fun!), couple broken fingers, broken nose, couple of chipped teeth, faaaar to many sprained ankles, and various gashes and bruises.

Split my chin open playing ball. Got stiches and came back the next day....to dislocate my knee-cap. Fun.

Broke little finger, left hand playing softball,i was pitching,no glove caught a line drive ouch!Dislocated left knee playing football, but as a mechanic i've had several hand and top of head owiees..

Hmmm, sports injuries....

I've broken and sprained toes on the junior high drill team and dance team.

I broke a wrist playing Twister. Does that count?

I've actually sustained several injuries during...um, that's not really a sport (though it should be).

Okay, I'm not so much the sporting type. Probably a good thing, however, considering that I'm hellified clutzy.

I broke my left middle finger catching a softball (yes, I caught it), broke my big toe, broke my nose which also cause me to have a black eye, dislocated a couple of fingers, chipped a tooth, had 5 stitches above my eye.

I was 15. I did those playing football near near Auburn with my cousin Chris. As a big guy I was a linemen. I picked up a fumble and had 3 people jump on my back. I carried them 40 yards till my knee gave out.

I never knew what pain was till that day.

I was about 10 or 11, horseback riding. The horse reared and fell on top of me. I was in body cast all summer. I broke both legs and arms as well as ribs. Altogether 16 broken bones as well as fractures and bruising. It hurt like ****. I also broke wrist on swing, does that count as sport? Many pulled muscles and strains, sprains etc. It's safe to say now the only sport I enage in is changing the remote and walking to my car. Lol. I seem to have the same problem as 3G

And those are exactly the injuries that I have had. Two meniscus surgeries, one on each knee, with another knee surgery needed to repair messed up ligaments. Had several sprained ankles, once it might have even been borderline broken, but it is still nothing comparing to knee injuries. Of course, I had cut my face on the bone below and above my eyes several times and my nose never looked the same after one elbow. And I still want more :)

Do I even want to ask? ;)

The person hovering over my left-hand-blue lost their balance.

The break was very minor, thankfully, but I will always be known amongst my friends as the person who managed to get injured playing Twister.....as an adult.
