EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets on Thursday acquired center Mikki Moore from the Seattle SuperSonics for a 2009 second-round draft pick.
Moore fills a need up front for New Jersey, which will be without the services of rookie power forward Josh Boone for four to six months after undergoing shoulder surgery.
The 7-foot Moore, 30, averaged 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds last season for Seattle. In eight seasons with seven teams, he has career marks of 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 303 games.
"We are pleased to add Mikki to our roster," Nets president Rod Thorn said. "He is a veteran presence who will add depth to our frontcourt rotation."

While not as big mass-wise as Boone, Moore makes up for the loss of Boone and his athleticism, off the bench. Can block some shots, scrap for some boards (not a good rebounder though), has a decent j and can get hustle points around the basket. Had an okay year with the Sonics, and should be solid in the Nets system w/ Jason Kidd.

HOLD THE PHONE!!!
This makes the Nets Organization (no longer New Jersy Nets, movin to Brooklyn) the odds on favorate to win the East... For the first time since the demise of Todd and Deek (and to an extent ZO), the gapeing hole at center has been filled...

Ok, jokes aside, good pickup. With the center situation in the NBA the way it is, I am shocked that he hasn't gotten more burn. Good cat, nothng special, but he can give you a shot block or 2.

People on this board have way too much time on their hands.

A stiff known as Mikki(don't call me Mickey) Moore gets traded and there are 2 seperate threads created within 2 minutes

All we need is some Kings action to properly occupy our attention....

When you're bored, you're bored. Even Mikki can be exciting for a moment or two. :)

Actually just came on the computer for the first time of the day, and usually check out the news sites. Saw that, posted it, but while I was, Warhawk did it before me. :)

would be nice if we could get a stiff like moore... an extra 7 footer is better than reef as our back up center...

Kings113 is very guilty of this... seems like he wants the be the first to post all the transaction news and rumors etc... he joined in july 2005 and yet his got over 7,600 posts!, which is alot more than some of the members who have joined earlier...

Kings113 sure does love to start threads... :p

Well, you're basing one situation on my whole time here. And I already explained how I posted the Moore story.

I just post the news because I like to create discussion and inform whats going on in the league. As I don't just/mainly follow the Kings, and I've followed the league since I got back into the NBA in 2003.

I also wouldn't say I want to be the first to post stuff, that's just you assuming wrong is all. On occasion, if there's some big news and I see it, then I do race to post it. :)

hey its cool Kings113, some of us have hobbies, mines drinking, yours is posting numerous threads about the nba. who am I to judge?:p

still im surprised some of you havent heard of moore. he solid especially for all of a 2nd round pick. Hope Petrie tried to get in on that, would be a much better deal than Hart.

I'm sure it doesn't matter. ;)

It's not a hobby. Just a thing I do when I'm on the computer.

I'd rather have Justin Williams and/or Amundson on the roster than Moore.

I remember when he was with the Clippers. I like him. One of the more athletic 7 footers you will see in the league. He can throw down some monster dunks.

You still have a long way to go to catch up to me, Kings113, so don't worry about it.

:)

Speaking for Kingsfans.com, we appreciate the articles you bring to the board.

Thanks.

^^ Ya I agree. I used to go to other NBA web sites to check out the latest news on FA signings and stuff. But Kings113 is always right on top of it so I just come straight here to check out the latest from around the NBA. Thanks Kings113.

Same here...

Hell yeah, keep on contributing Kings113. I like knowing that whatever is going on at the time will be on here ASAP. Makes the limited time I can use the computer a day stretch a lot farther! Thanks!
