Phil Jackson has even stated that he would rather not face the Spurs in the first round. That is why they are working hard to hold on to the 7th seed.

The only thing that bothers me about playing the Kings is the dirty plays of Artest and Miller. They could very easily injure Manu or Tony which would hurt us more in the long run. Artest is volatile and unpredictable. Series wise, I know we can beat them pretty easily.
Umm, this coming from a fan of a team with Bruce "Lee" Bowen on the roster. Some people are hilarious.

Dirty play? And, I suppose Bowen only plays hard. Bwahahaha! :p You got it right, Bibby_10. :D

Yes because we all know Ron and Brad try to jump kick Wally Szcerbiak in the face and kick Ray Allen in the back(when he's not even expecting it).

The only harm Ron would do to Manu is shut him down so badly Manu would be humiliated on national tv

I'm still waiting for a dirty play from Artest. Even when he went through that phase where he was making tons of flagrant fouls, I don't really remember any outright dirty plays and some of those flagrants towards the end of the season were based mostly off his reputation.

I guess some people don't watch basketball, they just talk about it.

Artest flagranted Barbosa pretty well Tuesday night ;). Brad Miller fouled Gasol REALLY hard in the 2nd game at Memphis, where Pau was almost in tears. Also probably referring to Brad's mid-court picks on PGs.

i absolutely love brads picks on the pg's

i love them, love them, love them

the best one was last year in the playoffs against the sonics
mike started to run and ridnour started running and ran into a b-52 and was on the floor for a while...
dumbass jeroma "garbage bag man" james didnt even call out the pick to save his pg's head

Brad couldn't jump high enough to kick Wally in the face.

Not true. Artest and Brad are so dirty that Ron would knock Wally to the floor so Brad could kick him in the face. They are tandem meanies you know. ;) :p

Brad dirty? He can be, back in his Bulls days he was a total thug.
I'll take that "Thug" over Bitter Beer Face Brad any day...

That being said it is a GREAT change to have guys that other teams are afraid of!

Getting called for flagrants is one thing, intentionally hurting another player is quite another.

I dont see much of a difference there, flagrant fouls are for excessive contact which would result in injuries. care to explain....

King's - from being considered one of the SOFTEST teams in the league .... to now being called THUGS !!!!

We've come A LONG WAY BABeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeY:eek:

... I'm actually lovin' THE CONTROVERSY

IMO - the part highlighted in RED is what I would consider controversial .... anything and everything is UP FOR DEBATE

I have seen Bowen kick people and routinely slide under vunerable jump-shooters. I have seen Robert Horry poke people in the eye more than once. I have not seen Artest do anything questionable, yet. My problem with Brad is his lack of aggression.

Maybe I have not seen enough games.

this spurs fan is sounding like laker fans. bowen has the reputation as the leagues dirtiest player, horry bites and pokes, and manu is no angel. it's like the laker fans complaining about calls after game 6.

Okay, could we all try real hard NOT to turn this into something about the Lakers?

Who cares what a Spurs fan says on a Spurs board? Pretty tame, in all honesty.

So debate already... what's "controversial" about it?

Brad and Ron will always have that rep. Before we traded Jalen Rose for both of them, we were soft. When they were both here, we were called "thugs". When it was just Ron, we were called things like "tough" and "physical". Now we're soft again.

I don't believe either of them try or have tried to hurt their fellow players (insert Brawl joke here... or don't), but Brad is a hard fouler sometimes and he's ruffled more than a few feathers doing it. Ask Shaq (though it was really Oakley's elbow that set him off; he didn't know who did it and Brad had hacked him earlier).

As for Ron, for every flagrant he got in Indiana that was weak or called by reputation, he had some that were just inexcusable. He spun a 76er into a 360 once by grabbing him as he was falling out of bounds (or something like that; I just remember Ron falling out of bounds and a Sixer spinning in air before slamming to the court). I can think of two flagrants that I think were the worst, both the same act: He swiped from behind as Paul Pierce/Andre Kirilenko drove to the basket for a floater, and he nailed them in the face, pulling both of their heads straight back sharply. They're both lucky they didn't get whiplash (seriously).

Other than that? I can only recall just fouls that were too hard, and like I said reputation ones.

But both have had enough legitly questionable incidents that I don't bat an eye when someone else in the league expresses concern.

Neither is as bad as Bruce Bowen, IMO, but they've done wrong before.

Who else has a bad rep in this league for this kind of thing? I know I'm forgetting someone obvious. Danny Forston comes to mind. But I keep thinking there was some team that whenever the Pacers played them, our guys always managed to get into dangerous situations under the basket because of how this guy played. Matt Geiger was a punk in the '00 playoffs. But neither is who I think I'm remembering. Hmm.

The controversy is whether the statement is controversial or not. Some say it's very controversial, some don't think it's controversial at all. In my opinion, I think having a controversy over whether a topic is controversial is completely unnecessary, but my opinion is somewhat controversial... or not controversial at all.
