Smills "Kings/Magic" deal up scaled .. Sac/Clev/Orl/SA

perezident

G-League
Sac trades Mike Bibby 09 2nd rounder
Gets Carlos Arroyo,Pat Garrity,Brent Barry,James Augustine

Reason; ends the saga with Bibby, Basically this was clearly to dump Bibby's salary with all those expirings coming back to Sac.

New lineup
Brad/Mikkie/Hawes/**Garrity**
Kenny/Justin/Agustine*/SAR*
Artest/Cisco
Kevin/Salmons/Douby
Arroyo/Barry/Shukur*

Clev trades Drew Gooden,Larry Hughes,Damon Jones,David Wesly,Shannon Brown 08 1st rounder (top 20 protected)
Gets Mike Bibby,Tony Battie,Hedo Turkoglu, Ian Mahinmi

Reason; This puts Clevland right back into the mix of things meanning contending for the NBA Title once again. They add alot of depth and more talent. They were lacking size and by this deal they get the help they need. Not to mention they added some perimeter shooting to spread the floor. Also they rid themselves of streaky Larry Hughes who never gel'd with the offense.

New Lineup
Big Z/Tony Battie
Hedo/Varejao/Mahinim*
Lebron/Donyell Marshall/Ira
Alexander Plav/Gibson
Bibby/Snow

Orl trades Hedo Turkaglu,Carlos Arroyo,Tony Battie,James Agustine,Pat Garrity
Gets Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Shannon Brown 09 2nd rounder (SAC)

Reason; They desperately could use a Defensive minded SG and a starter at that because they are really weak at that postion. Hughes would bring mental toughness to the squad. With the newly signed Foyle on the squad now that makes Battie expendable. Drew Gooden is more of the PF they are looking for, he crashes the boards real well and is a wonderful post Defender. Coach Stan would love to have he and Hughes on the squad.

New lineup
Dwight/Foyle
Drew Gooden/Fran Vazquez/Bo Outlaw*
Rashard Lewis/Ariza
Hughes/Bogans/JJ Redick
Nelson/Dooling

SA trades Brent Barry Ian Mahinim
Gets Damon Jones David Wesly 09 1st top 20 protected (Clev)

Reason; Basically Brent has been in Pops Dog House for the past 2 seasons now. Bringing in Jones would be to bring some 3pt shooting to the squad and would enable them a draft pick. Wesly would just become a vet mentoring players. A good lockerroom guy. And maybe could be that of Avery Johnson i.e joining Pops staff

New Lineup
Elson/Orbeto
Duncan/Horry
Bowen/Udoka
Finely/Manu/Wesly
Parker/Jones/Vaughn/Udrih*

Thoughts?? ....

My thoughts are that we didn't get anything for Bibby. I'm sure Petrie could have pulled the trigger on a deal where we basically give away Bibby and get back zilch or enders. You don't trade away assets like this. Arroyo would not be considered an asset.

Seriously... this is ridiculous.

And no thanks on Arroyo in a Kings jersey, I can't stand him.

so what did we get for Cwebb??? ....SCRUBS with horrible contracts. All of those players are enders! And we are rebuilding and those salary mark off about 18 mil off the books.

Lets be real we are never going to get anything of substance for bibby, i don't care how u look at it. The guy was never even an allstar!

The point is Bibby is a wonderful player but on a good team he plays 3rd even 4th fiddle to the main guys.

I LOVE MY SACRAMENTO KINGS just as much as the Maloofs and fellow kings fans out there but i call a spade a spade imo. And getting 18mil of expirerings for bibby is better than getting, Kenny thomas Micheal Bradly and what ever else losers came. With the exception of Corliss.

FYI the Webber trade was: Webber, Matt Barnes and Michael Bradley to Philadelphia for Corliss Williamson, Brian Skinner and Kenny Thomas.

thats what i meant to say i'm sorry....so it just makes my point stand out more....we gave 3 players for 3 losers and with their crappy contracts that we are still suffering from

Corliss is gone
Skinner was traded for 2 guys who are off the books
KT is still here.

So I think it worked out ok. I believe we would still have CWebb on the books at this point if not traded. Philly bought him out....for quite a price. When we traded CWebb it was clear that his career was never going to be the same because of the injury. Trading him was a necessary move. Bibby's career is not in jeopardy...he had an off year. He needs to get his value back up and then he will be traded. If Bibby were the 3rd option for a team like Cleveland, they might win an NBA championship. He will be valuable to someone. September is not the time for a trade.

I think the Cavs wants to be an athletic run-n-gun team that plays defense and rebound. But this trade leaves them with a slow-footed team more suited to the half-court. Just look at the starting line-up, ony Lebron can jump higher than a few inches off the ground.

Somehow I don't see the Cavs pulling the trigger on this.

Who comes up with these four team trades? Two team deals aren't easy. Three teams deals are difficult. A four team trade is damn near impossible.

The wonders of the realGM trade checker and ESPN's new trade machine...

;)

How about they rebuild in one single move. Buy out all the contracts and sign D-leaguers for 440k each. It puts the Kings way under the salary cap.

they wouldnt have the cap space until the contracts ended though... if it was that easy to create capspace every team in the league would be under the cap....

if you buyout thomas you still have to wait until his contract expires to get that capspace... but if they are willing to wait that long i could care less... keep the d-leaguers for a year, dont use the mle and draft super high.... do that for the next 3 years and we'll be set...

I could never wait that long. Somehow 0-82 does not seem like a respectable record. 3 top 5 draft picks don't mean crap unless big names come along. This is especially true when you consider that even top picks usually take time to fully develop. And what good is being under the cap limit if you have to way overpay big name FAs to come to your team. All that cap space can be wasted on overrated veterans (i.e. Rachard Lewis). Atlantas been rebuilding for years now and still there is not much future for them (at least 2 more seasons in the lottery).
