who do you guys think is the drafts sleeper pick? and please i dont want to see a million francisco garcia votes.....

It's impossible to rate any sleepers until at least one or two months into the season, and even then it's horribly premature. That's why they're sleepers- because you just don't know. This thread is going nowhere other than another debate over Garcia, which has it's proper place somewhere else.

Villanueva. Everyone's bashing the pick, but three years from now he and Bosh could be the new Wallaces.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I could not agree more. Contrary to almost everyone else's opinion I think Charlie will turn out pretty damn good.

Being picked in the top 10 makes someone the opposite of a sleeper. A sleeper is someone overlooked in the early rounds and picked up later without much fanfare or note by anyone. The sleepers are all the peeps in the second round who we are not and will not be talking about. Which is exactly why this thread is so pointless. Because to be a sleeper a player must be an unknown quantity at this point.

But if everybody is "sleeping" on Villanueva, can he not be a "sleeper"? If I must name a second rounder I will say Salim Stoudamire or Ukic.

The point is that you cannot know which picks are sleepers until they establish themselves as players - none of these guys have played a minute yet. Pointless thread at the moment....

maybe this should have been, steal of the draft..... in which case it would be green......

Erazem Lorbek hands down. He is voted the best young player in Europe for 2004-05 and was compeatly overlooked. He has all the talent just need a year or two to bulk up.

Ersan Ilyasova. Wish the Kings could have somehow grabbed him :(

We could have -- we chose not to.

Ilyasova, Ukic, Andrius...eh, however you spell it, Taft, Ilic, Petro, Wright (lot of Euros)...all could go bust, but would not surprise at all if one or more of them turns out to be a late sleeper. Not sure I can recall a draft where so many players talked about as potential late lottery type picks were still available for teams to take with their 2nd round picks. SOMEBODY there will be a sleeper. Just no way to tell who yet (or they wouldn't have slid so far in the first place).

Hard to define sleeper too -- Green obviously slid a long way, but as a major prospect talked about as high as #5 I think that everybody is looking at that as more of a steal than a sleeper. He's not slipping under the radar.

My sleeper is Turiaf. The guy is all about hustle, defense and rebounding, things our beloved Kings lack. He could have provided what we are missing and we passed on him...

I think the first three picks of the 2nd round, Salim Stoudamire, Daniel Ewing and Brandon Bass will all turn out pretty solid and valueable role players and better than several of the guys taken right before them in the 15-30 range.

Yeah, I'm not sure why there was such an uproar for the pick. Picking him early was clearly strategic. They had two picks, they wanted Villanueva, and decided to use the early pick to lock him in. Other than messing up most peoples mocks, did it matter where he was drafted? I don’t think so.

I don't know why all the hipe with Ukic. I watched him this year a lot and I have to say that his game is no better then Vujacics (LA Lakers) and the same goes for his athletic potentials.

I'm gonna go with Chris Taft as the top sleeper. He did go second round right?

Vujacic will be a really good player. He's young and there is nothing wrong with his athleticism. I haven't heard a lot about Roko though.

The Sun's summer league team has a number of guys that went undrafted and I think can be sleepers from this draft: Mindaugas Katelynas, Stephen Graham (Joey's twin) and Lucas Tischer.

I would have like to see all three guys on the Kings summer roster but oh well.

Makes a lot of sense... but there's nothing to talk about now. There's no sense spoiling their fun.
