Sixers fielding offers for Andre Miller

I doubt it. It seems more like the Sixers are leaning towards a youth phase, and adding an aging PG which does nothing for their future, isn't what they were thinking about.

I doubt a Bibby deal can come together quick enough to beat the Sixers to the punch. Based on Philly's past history of taking on and creating bad contracts, they'll probably get the most talent for Miller.

This is bad news for Sac b/c Bibby's trade value now goes way down. Miller's contact is the same length as Bibby's but is 4mill less per year. Miller doesn't have Bibby's range, but is a better rebounder. Plus Bibby's injury puts us in a position of weakness.

This guy is the PG in the league most like Jason Kidd, stat-wise and play style. He has never been on a great team and he has never made his teams better the way Kidd has. However he is a better "true" PG than Bibby is if you consider assist totals. And he is one of three players to record a triple-double in NCAA tournament history along with Oscar Robertson and Dwyane Wade. He has 7 career triple doubles and numerous near-miss ones. Career .20% 3-pt shooter and inconsistent outside shot as well (like Kidd although his has improved a bit).

Maybe the GM who thought it was a good idea to give Kenny Thomas a 7 year $50 million deal would take him back.

Both Cleveland and Miami still need outside shooting. The PG on those teams won't be big assists guys anyhow and they need to be able to contribute somewhere else. But it matters little as Miami and Cleveland have little of what we want.

We have absolutely no use for Andre Miller in a rational world. Its exactly the sort of move we should NOT be making. In fact we should be in the same position as the Sixers -- lookng to move our vet too. This therefore becomes more of an additonal problem for us as extra competition than it represents an opportunity.

i wouldnt mind miller if we traded thomas or reef to get him...

thomas and douby for miller then trade bibby where ever for a big man...

NO use at all, whatsoever.

But I don't see it as competition in the market for a veteran pg, because Miller and Bibby have such completely different styles of playing. I guess Miller is a better defender, but Bibby is by far a better shooter/scorer, and he can put up 7+ apg in a distributor role. I'd say that we'd get more for Bibby than the Sixers would get for Miller.

What would be ironic is if he winds up going back to the Cavs. Where is Darius Miles, anyways?

There was a time when Miller was considered an up-and-rising PG. He led the league in assists with 10.9 during his stint with Cleveland, and considering how pathetic that team was, many thought that, with a more offensively potent team, Miller would really break out and show his stripes. But alas, it was not to be--his assists leveled off, his scoring leveled off, and he never quite broke into what we would now consider Chris Paul/Deron Williams territory--he stayed quiet albeit staying within the top 10 PG comfort zone.

All that being said, as Brick eloquently put it, he's just another veteran PG. Won't help us when we ought to stay in our push to go young this season.

Isn't Andre Miller from Eldorado Hills? Bring him home. :D
I don't know he is a lot of $, not something we are a stranger too paying out though.

Its direct competition IMO and I think the Sixers have the top commodity. Considering the year Miller is having and the year Bibby just had its pretty tough to argue that Bibby is really that much better of a scorer. Bibby is a superior shooter yes, but Miller's better in just about everything else on the court. If they were both healthy I think they'd be fairly even, and I agree that Bibby was a better player two years ago, but I'll bet the Sixers get a better package for Miller than we do for Bibby.
