So by your own acknowledgment we gave up a scorer who didn't fit and got a guy who makes our previous starting PF look like a scrub but somehow the trade was stupid? The Kings will be fine, and they will get better. Evans will develop into a super star. Somewhere we may get a front court that can stop somebody without fouling out. But good Lord, we just gave up a solid scorer because we couldn't fit him in somehow. That's a little stupid.
Luckily we did get Landry who makes Jason Thompson look like a high school scrub.
Oh please. The Martin haters club.
The Kings have gone 4 and 7 since Martin left.
The Rockets have played .500 since Martin entered their starting line-up and in those games his average points per game is 25.5.
And don't tell me that the Kings chemistry is so wonderful now and aren't they playing great. They look worse to me. Bad chemistry. Standing around watching Tyreke. Snipping at each other. If not for Landry, who we are lucky to have, I'm not sure we'd have won those 4. We beat a Toronto team the other night who came in lazy expecting to walk all over us.
Martin is a much better fit in Houston which says something about the Kings. It's really different to watch an Adelman offense where the ball moves and people move. Oh, and they like Martin's defense in Houston as well. I don't think they inherited the same prejudice Kings fans picked up from somewhere.

Exactly how I feel. Sometimes trades work out well for both teams. It can and has happened. Houston and Sacramento are in totally differnt places right now, with different needs.Yeah read your own post again. You seem to be in violent agreement that this was a good trade. I'm happy Kevin is in Houston and doing well. And I'm happy to have Landry here.
All this said, we got a good fit in return (good value for good value) and an improvement in team chemistry. You neither have to praise nor knock Martin in the process.Oh please. The Martin haters club.

In what world is 4-7 worse than 3-15? Kings were getting blown out regularly pre-trade, and have gone back to being competitive.
And how are we "lucky" to have Landry? This post makes no sense- on the one hand, you talk about how great K-Mart is, and on the other you act like getting back a quality player in exchange is a fluke.
-So to summarize your post, as a logical argument:
P1: Martin is talented but didn't fit with the team.
P2: Landry is a quality player who helps the Kings win games.
C: Therefore, the Kings lost this trade, and y'all are haters. QED.

I am one of those who said the trade was not enough - meaning we only got Landry and cap space for Martin. For me, Petrie seems to have wasted that rare opportunity to land that BIG defensive man that we needed and at the same time wasted the opportunity to dispose the toxic contracts of either Beno or Nocioni or replaced the wussy Hawes with a true center. Martin for Landry was just not enough value considering we could have added more ( say a defensive BIG ) if only Petrie worked his butt early enough, got creative for once, or tried harder using our valuable assets. I just felt we had good aces at hand ( Martin and Thomas' expiring contract ) and all we came-up with is a good PF, but undersized for his position.Oh please. The Martin haters club.

But on the other hand, I am so happy we finally got rid of ourselves of one softie player before he infects the team with his sissy defense again. That is one good baby step forward. It also clearly shows on the floor that having Landry was better than having Martin on this team, although sadly, still not enough. We still need to purge this team with the remnants of sissiness in defense ( Beno and Hawes ) and get that defensive big man.
If truly your name is Luv4Kings, and not Luv4Martin, you would feel somewhat happy we made this step forward.![]()
