Shawn Marion???

Anyone have any interest in him? Just by a very superficial look, Artest and Thomas together make enough to match, and it would be a LOT of $$$ coming off the books in 2 seasons, along with Bibby.

Phx's aim in moving him would be to cut salary off the books, and we don't have the expirings to pull it off. It would have to be a three-way, and even then, tough to work out.

were out of the running for real talent right now. kings can make this happen when we got more expiring contracts, like kenny thomas,bibby,miller,SAR,whoever else is under contract for 2+ yrs

Or to get a high pick- the only way this might work is through Boston, who are using Gomes at PF and seem high on him. Marion could play SF there, but moving Wally becomes the next thing. Not sure how (or if) that would go....

i'd love to get him. but there's no way it happens unless we can convince them that Ron Artest has become a born again christian who has been building homeless shelters by himself and helping little old ladies across the street.

oh, and maybe if we convinced them that we've managed to make Brad Miller 10 years younger

Um no. We have no business going after a player like Marion. A waste of time for a rebuilding team and stupid to throw away young pieces for him. Not only that but Marion needs someone to create for him which we don't have.

we get an all star and move up in the draft by getting rid of our biggest problem player, a PF w/ bad knees and our pick?! Boston would riot if that trade was made.

i only see it working if picks 10 and 29 went to Boston, and the #5 went to PHX. even that's pushing it
