In a box, Dennis+Keon+2nd for Hunter is a decent win for us.
But why are we trying to get better right now? What happened to the rebuild? If we like him, are we really about to send him a 4-80 type deal? Why?? Why are we giving up any draft capital for a "win now" player?
What this screams to me is we think we can be competitive next year. And some of yall really complained about Monte, lol
We got better while we're bottoming out. It makes no sense. I agree I'd be excited about this if it had happened 18 months ago, maybe even 6 months from now. Right now it makes zero sense, might derail our lottery prospects, and seems like what impatient teams (owners) do rather than commit to a short term (2-3 year) rebuild locks us into another decade of picking 10th every year.Someone fill me in. Why would we gripe about being longer and having an upper tier 3pt shooter? He’s 28 and can be a key dude in our rebuild
I don't know if we actually know that and with NIL and the current CBA we might see guys that could go 15-40 stick around an extra year. I think what we know is the next two years currently have no player you plot your tank for like 3 of the last 4 drafts have. But a bit hard to say a kid who is 16 right now doesn't look amazing in 18 months, let alone potential 15 year olds. The ‘27 and ‘28 draft are supposedly really bad so we need to get a guy or two this draft. Would be nice if we could get a 4th pick this year somehow.
I don't care about giving or receiving 2nd round picks. I do care we have yet to add any firsts.
I think it’s a great move. Just follow the Jazz model where they “rest” Markannen and George every so often. Or sub him for Westbrook with a few mins left. He’s a super solid piece with Keegan and if we can get a top 5 pick, that’s a really good foundation. I don’t see the concernWe got better while we're bottoming out. It makes no sense. Really bitter to swallow we could have just given Keon Schröder's money in all of this. We fleeced ourselves.Ah so it was the second we got in the Schroder deal
lol probablyDid kings give up 2 2nd rounders?

Just have to keep feeding Hunter at the three point lineAll of that is fine but this move in theory improves the team right now when we're happily in last place with the most lottery tickets. For what?

He is not that good and old to be a foundation for a rebuild, and we should bottom out in the next 2-3 years. Looks like the stupid owner think we are just having one bad season only, that could be the real concernI think it’s a great move. No, just one. Read the posts just prior to this one.Did kings give up 2 2nd rounders?
I’m not mad at Hunter…but I’m slightly concerned we had to attach assets to dump two Perry acquisitions less than 6 months after acquiring them.
I care about early 2nd Round picks but the least of those 3 is not a big deal. We can’t have too many seconds and getting a forward with Hunters length is always hard.I don't care about giving or receiving 2nd round picks. I do care we have yet to add any firsts.
Dump in the sense that clearly they weren’t working out for us. Gives real Thomas Robinson vibes. This isn’t a salary dump though, we added salary. They apparently wanted Hunter. We will see if he works out
It's an add next year but we're also potentially poised to shed 80m plus in 2027. For all the free agents we'll never sign. This isn’t a salary dump though, we added salary. They apparently wanted Hunter. We will see if he works out
No just onelol probably
Agents are now dictating who goes in the lottery. I just don't even think teams get to actually pick their own players in the second now.I care about early 2nd Round picks but the least of those 3 is not a big deal. Hunter could be a piece but even if not this clears some salary for '27 I guess. They don't have to pay Keon and the Schroder mistake is alleviated. Bleh.
