Shams Bomb! Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroder traded to Cleveland in 3 team deal. Kings acquire De’Andre Hunter

Why would we extend Hunter though? He doesn’t suit our timeline, a normal team would expect fire sale for picks and young player , but this team, Vivek didn’t say they are not like us for nothing

you aren’t going to have fifteen 22 year olds on the roster at one time. The core 6-8 guys can be youth and then surrounded by vets. 28-32 is not old for most nba players any more. Kosts Kufos retired at 29, players primes are longer and later then they were 10 years ago.

All of that is fine but this move in theory improves the team right now when we're happily in last place with the most lottery tickets. For what?

Yeh I don’t get it. Maybe they are planning on trading Deebo and Domas at the deadline and releasing Russ. Team will still be bad at that point.

I think it’s after the deadline that they can give him the guaranteed deal.
He's on a two-way we can convert at any time I am pretty sure, as long as we have the roster space.

However we might have done this first in order to do more moves in and out, in which case if it waits until deadline day we wind up not being able to do it until it's too late.

Well there's no reason not to trade Russ for at least a second. He obviously can play still. This would make that Toronto deal easier. Or open up a trade with GSW when they don't get Giannis. And of course any Deebo for two lesser players and a pick type thing. We at least have roster flexibility but think this added cap commitment until more dominoes fall.

We don't need to give up asset to get him, not to mention this could sabotage our lottery chance. See how Bull is doing, get a player and get picks, this is what rebuilding teams has been doing. Smarter team can even flip that player for more picks like Nets doing with MPJ. Those team has been showing us how to do it right. But this team, idk man

In a box, Dennis+Keon+2nd for Hunter is a decent win for us.

But why are we trying to get better right now? What happened to the rebuild? If we like him, are we really about to send him a 4-80 type deal? Why?? Why are we giving up any draft capital for a "win now" player?

What this screams to me is we think we can be competitive next year. And some of yall really complained about Monte, lol
